Accepted by both school for K1. any comments are appreciated. I'm looking for a caring school with good value and discipline, and a higher chance to get into the primary. Thanks.

Congratulations. May I ask if you been to play session for Anfield. If so, which session. My daughter is currently at Anfield and so far we feel the school is caring and also focus on discipline. I dunno about KIS though. My son applied K1 for next year and hence I am eager to know if they have started granting offer.

90% of the kids can go to NIS primary. The teachers are very caring, it's a Christian school so they have praise times to sing songs together 3 times a week (10 mins each time), every Monday parents are welcome to join the praise time. The set up is very "homey" and "cosey", the campus is very "old" (well yet we can call it flavored due to the historical site) but you can feel the money you pay go to your kids but not to any other fancy things. They have 20 mins of traditional Chinese / mandarin class per day.
If you like nice / new things then you'd better choose Anfield, NIS simply does not offer these. The location for both schools are so different so I guess if you can't make up your mind I would go for the one which is closer to home, or whichever route which has less traffic for traveling to school every day :)

Actually both are good and caring school with good discipline. Anfield is a catholic school and the kinders are well known to be caring. It has 30min mandarin every day and it is taught in traditional chinese. Anfield primary is relatively new, it has traditional chinese teaching 1 hour daily.
I think both are good and both got the same problem without secondary school. So which I you choose I think can depend where you live.

I also got accepted to Anfield K1 (Kln Tong). Thinking whether to pay the debenture. I wish to have my son go to a caring and disciplined school (with a good teacher:student ratio which Anfield offers) but main concern is the Chinese. Don't want my child to speak English everyday at home and unwilling to speak in Cantonese.

If your concern is chinese, maybe Yiu Chung and kingston are more suitable for u. Anfield is still an english heavy school.

Am or pm offer?

作者: pushar 時間: 15-11-10 09:42
AM - but I have decided not to take it as I can't really accept my son, being chinese and born and raised in HK and not knowing a minimal level of chinese. I will aim for the other local kinders now.

Can share info about Anfield, it is a very good school, all teachers are caring, and they're focus on discipline. For Anfield primary have 2 class means 50 placement, there have around 100 k2 student graduated at hunghom & kowloon tong campus, means half students may not get the first round offer for primary, however, most of the parents will give up the opportunity if they get another offer from through train int'l school which with secondary, so most of the Anfield kinder students can get into the primary finally. Don't know much about NIS, but heard my friend said his kids are happy at school too.

If you have high expectation in Chinese standard , basically u only have cis, yew Chung , sis. Limited choices.
