Cat and Mouse ---- "why are you bored? Is there nothing to do? What are you thinking? Give us a clue...." This inspirational picture book invites the reader to join an intriguing search for something to do.

Dottie --- Dottie, a white dog, is ``always growing things'' (i.e., plants) in the backyard and even in the living room. Her parents try to discourage this un-dog-like behavior, but when Dottie notices other animals behaving against type--Duck roller-skates, Cat sails on the ocean and Rabbit paints pictures--she realizes that it's okay to be different. Her parents finally come around to her way of thinking and, on her birthday, present her with gardening tools.

Jake's birthday --- Jake's brother is having a birthday. As the party starts, and presents and cards arrive, Jake gets furious; he wants it to be his birthday now, too - not in two weeks' time. This book takes a gentle look at sibling jealousy.

Greg's my egg --- When Wool sees Mrs Voleater with her six little kittens, he decides he wants a baby. "You can't just get a baby", say's Wool's friend Floppy. But Wool is determined so Floppy suggests hat before he tries to look after a baby he sees if he can take care of an egg....

Little Mouse's painting --- Little Mouse decides to make a painting. But when she shows the painting to her friends, they all have their own ideas about what's in the picture-and no one will listen to what Little Mouse has to say about it! This many-layered story celebrates the surprises of friendship and the joy of creativity.

Fables from Aesop --- Aesop's fables have entertained generations of readers.
