is it run by local chinese management?
but its quite odd that CAIS students i've met speak english with very thick accent. Know few top local english primary school kids who speak much more fluent english.

唔好意思，之前係第二個CAIS post 問過但冇人答。想問CAIS 收生係似其他IS係每年Calendar Year?定係似local school 由9月至第二年12月？因為刨完成個CAIS website 都無寫。

我諗Tigertoffee 既問題係CAIS 收唔收超大仔。

我個朋友個仔仔舊年以超大仔（11月）身份報prep, 學校叫佢改報grade 1.

但我個仔今年班prep以我所知係有超大仔（12月）。所以最好問下學校。

You will get used to it... All schools will "ramp up" at some point. LS kids get used to it in Grade 1. CAIS kids get used to it in Grade 4. The volume of work at Grade 4 is still a long ways away from what LS requires of their students.

That being said, some kids will take some time to adjust to the heavier workload, but the time provided within class to finish the homework is often enough for some students that they bring home very little homework even at Grade 4. So depending on where your child is in terms of how quickly and focused they are, your view of their workload will be very different.

Try to meet a few more... For the most part, the English competency is good. But it is affected by influences such as whether their family speaks English fluently at home or not, or whether they've "grown up" with CAIS or whether they were transferred in at a higher grade.

You can see the management for yourself on the staff pages of their web site, but almost every teacher, even if they are Chinese, would have been an expat and speaks proper English, though with accents of their origin. Even the Chinese Language teachers are surprisingly good at their level of fluency in English, from my experience.
