I am interested in applying AIS early childhood program for my son. The website states that "applicants need to speak simple sentences". But my son can only speak simple words rather than sentences. Besides he is shy with strangers and reluctant to talk to strangers. Does that mean it is impossible to pass the interview?? If so, I don't need to waste $1500 application fee.....Is anyone willing to share the experience with me? Thanks!

Are you talking American international school or Australian international school? If it is the later, Aussies are given priority, you might not even get a chance to get an interview if your child doesn't have an Aussie passport.

i think you should try, never try never win.
before interview, you may sent him to playgroup.
i think playgroup is helpful for all kindergarten interview, not only AIS.

My girl went to K1 interview early this year. The teachers were nice and they were patient to converse with my daughter. I think it would be better and secure if your kid can speak a full sentence of English.
