標題: ESF Schools vs RC [打印本頁]

I don't know exactly the difference between the ESF Schools and RC. However, I learned that a lot of my friends chose RC than the ESF schools (like BHS, Shatin Junior, Kowloon Junior) when their kids promote to Primary school.
Anyone can give some comments to compare the difference between the schools? I can only give these:

ESF: $2K cheaper tuition fee, simplified Chinese
RC: $2K more, traditional Chinese

RC and DC (Discovery College) are also ESF, but classify as Private Independent School of ESF, which have no living district limitation, while others ESF have.

RC & DC are through-train IB schools but other ESF are IBPYP-IGCSE-IBDP.

You could apply RC& DC and one ESF primary school (according to your catchment zone) at the same time.

Traditional Chinese vs simplified Chinese means a lot to local families. And the new vs worn out facilities also makes RC more attractive.

I'm a bit confused about the IBPYP-IGCSE-IBDP. So they will provide IB programe for primary year only?

RC's Chinese programme is much stronger than conventional ESF schools. As a PIS school, RC should take in at least 70% local students.

ESF primary schools provide IB PYP from year 1-6, and the secondary schools provide IGCSE from year 7-11, and then provide IBDP in year 12 & 13.

For RC & DC, they provide IBPYP, IBMYP and then IBDP.

BTW, how do you see the IB results between ESF schools and RC?

RC is on the right track, the academic performance improves every year. Comparison? Sorry, I don't have such kind of experience ~one boy and one school. My son is going to be year 7 and I just focus on his growth. Struggling for the right approach and facilitating him to find his own way. He likes RC and his friends. Therefore, won't change to other schools.
