今天去AGENT 度, 本來我想2016 年9月亞女去英國, 讀A-LEVEL.

AGENT 比左D資料我, 佢提議我可今天9月去, 先讀1年GCSE.

佢提議 CARDIFF SIXTH FORM COLLEGE.

想問一下意見, 我是否應今年9月比女去讀好, 定慢慢等2016年9才讀A-LEVEL?

亞女都READY, 錢是可應付.

我唸緊, 讀一年就考GCSE, 吾知女得吾得.
但AGENT 話睇佢成績應OK, 而且, 佢早一年過去, 讀左多D科, 第時A-LEVEL 佢會知自己想讀D咩.好D.

因見無太多人討論1 年GCSE 課程, 因此想了解多一點.

Cardiff Sixth form 都是好的學校，著重學術，如果你女成績可以，這一年GCSE 比她了解A level 選科亦是好，通常agent 都叫早些去。

For the 1-year GCSE course in Cardiff Sixth Form College, are they talking about in the Cardiff campus or the Oxford campus? As far as I understand, the Cardiff campus is the original "head office" while the Oxford campus is a new "branch" established recently.

I have heard some people mentioning (not sure if it is true or not) that the atmosphere in the Oxford campus may be more relaxed and free compared with the Cardiff campus. Will that be the atmosphere suitable for your daughter? You may wish to check out more.

地點上，Oxford 吸引過 Cardiff...近機場又交通方便...Cardiff就真係比較達。
不過 CSFS 網頁話無得揀邊個 campus返學。

是，以上各位講既都正確。
舊校較有歷史，嚴些，較遠
新校較近，好似呢2年才有。

Agent話可分別問那間有位，視附我地選擇。

我有問佢另一間，queen ethelburgas college. 成績都是好校，但agent話，好多香港或中國人。貴d,但ok的。

因吾多學校有一年gcse課程，選既學校無讀a level既學校多/好。

呢2間算是成績較好的。

實在感激你的資料, 有些驚訝..

現在我有幾個選擇:

1.) 今年9月去, 讀1年gcse.
試下Cardiff Sixth Form College, Oxford or Cardiff.

2.) 今年9月去, 入住寄宿學校.
AGENT 比左個LIST 我, 如圖.
似乎, QE 成績好 (但我現在吾會選了)
請問LIST 內有那間可選? 請指教.
AGENT 話吾多學校開1年GCSE 課程.
想找成績好, 男女校, 好既學校.

3.) 如以上1,2 ) 都吾好, 我會2016年先比佢去升YEAR12.

To be frank, i am not familiar with the 1-year GCSE course. As for the schools listed, i also am not familiar with, except Bromsgrove. I have a friend whose son studies in junior form in Bromsgrove and he is very happy and thrive there.

d' Overbroeck's College 在Oxford 都是聲譽很好的學校。但學費很貴，Oxford 生活指數高，如果你女是自律學生及學費不是考慮，這可一試。呀仔曾參觀都想入，但自知成績未達標，故放棄考她。

Seems d'Overbroeck's college is a good choice. let me check more info. about this school..

我之前看要£12xxx/term以上，另有很多什費。你以上school fee 好像不合理，好像很久之前。現在普通排名的要£10000-11000。你再check check 2015/16。

d'Overbroeck 我都係第一次聽呢間學校，係比較年青的學校。 Location 唔錯，學校出來行幾步已經乜都有得買。去機場就要駁一駁車去機場巴士站。

由於朋友以前在oxford 讀書，現在她仔女亦在oxford 讀最top的私校，而且做餐飲常常對住當地學生。所以一直推介Abing... & d' O... 比呀仔，她話當地人都爭讀，等於香港爭入St.P..., DBS一樣。論成績及校風都很優質。呀仔都有參觀及想想，可惜他不是這材料。但留意college, 沒有人管束，好靠自律。亦比一般中學貴，預五，六十萬一年。
Cradiff 都可在機場坐巴士4小時再轉火車或的士，亦可坐荷航去cradiff機場，這些都是好top 的學校，相信你女成績好好。

我就覺得表內A Level A*-B的百分比很取考，Finanical Times的排名從來都是以A*-A來排，以英國取得A Level三個B, 恐怕連排十幾二十的大學例如Lancaster，York都入不到。以我記憶所及，Broomsgrove試過有一年在Financial Times 排約540，至於其它4間中學就未聽過。

點解唔考以下幾問:

Westminster
Brighton
Oundle
Caterham
King's Canterbury
Charterhouse

謝謝意見，是啊，有時agent比既資取考都吾知，只能自己做多d功課。
因我女，一係今年9月去讀一年gcse，一係下年去讀a level.

因吾多學校有一年gcse課程，所以佢比個list我，話呢d學校先有一年gcse課程。如今年9月吾去，下年先去讀a level,選擇多d.

所以我想試試從佢個表搵下有無值得讀既學校，或可選cardiff.
或真係吾啱，我就等下年才去。
不過，我都想佢考gcse.

你介紹的都是香港優秀學生入讀的學校，起碼申請要超過一兩年時間。有些要親自去見，看來趕不及今年申請。

我睇完你個表，我揀唔落手。
我情願遲一年，去讀A level。

我唔知點解你一定要揀男女校。因為好多女校的 local students 到中六時都會轉男女校，換下環境。所以女仔想中六入男女校會難左，因為多左班讀開女校的 local students爭。而且大部份男女校的男女比例，係男多女少..所以收夠女仔，就唔會再收，情願收男生。

反而，如果報考好的女校的中六會容易少少。

如果成績好，有d學校係可以讀完中四直入中六。我知CSFS、badminton 同 St swithun都會咁offer。

首先應了解女兒能力及目標選校，生活模式大校或細校，寄宿人數多或少。以呀仔心得，大校同學関係疏離一些，只會同座宿舍的人玩。細校就像大家庭，不理年級都一齊玩。傳統女校在英國比較成績突出。有些學校多活動，有些專注考試。所以了解學校是否適合多於只看排名。

我都有聽過班英國媽媽講，讀女校的女生成績一般都比讀男女校的女生成績好。

佢地無講點解..

照我所知 from my best friend (her daughter study at Cardiff）cardiff 以往只有 ALevel course, 沒有 1-year gcse讀. 但現在有冇改就唔知，最好問清楚 college，cardiff 將在6月13日在Hong Kong 有教育展你有空可去睇睇，好過只聽 agent 講，地點同時間 cardiff web site 有列明。

ALevel 明年改制没有AS考，將AS+A2 課程一起在 year 13考好似以前 hkalevel, 因沒有AS 成績所以 gcse results 將會比較重要 gor apply university, 這點要留意

雖然明年改制，但有些科目例如Maths和Languages因為不會在明年reform，所以都會有AS考

My daughter will join sixth form of a coed sku with 7xx boarder this Sep. She is in F4 and has been studying in girl sku since P1. We chose a coed sku coz we want her to experience another dimension in sku. It is true that girl or boy sku has better result becoz of concentration. We also chose a sku with more boarders becoz the % of foreign students will be less. She shld hv more chances to meet with locals and touch of British culture, hopefully. However the downside is there will be students who enjoy social life more than academic result. The distraction will be there but it is also a test of determination. The important thing is this is what my daughter wants too. So involve yr kid more in finding the right sku for her.

是的，但要留意300人都是寄宿生及中學生，還是一間學校有幼稚園，小學及中學合共人數，寄宿只有數十人。各有其好處。
