Hello. I heard that PODS will have a new campus near Fortress Hill. Does anyone know how big the campus is, the exact location, and how many classes will be held over there this coming Sept?

New campus is located at Harbour Heights.

School notice says that the new campus will offer K1-K2 for the AM session; PN, K1-K3 for the PM session.

Oh that's interesting. It sounds like the new campus is big. Is it more easily accessible? For example, to go to the current Tin Hau campus, we would have to climb up a slope or a flight of stairs from the MTR exit.

Oh that would be a lot more convenient then. Because for the old campus, I would normally ask the taxi to drop me off in front of the driveway of LHotel's delivery area after the 1st traffic light. Then we would walk down to school from there.

For pre-nursery, they do have homework and weekly reading, but it is manageable. The student has to do show and tell on a book every Friday. Normally, this book is taken home a week before so that the parent can read it together with the student. With regards to homework, the student takes home an activity book, where he/she would have to finish 1 or 2 pages of assigned work. These are very simple activities, like coloring or pasting pictures of certain objects.

Will the new campus at Harbour Heights be opened this coming September ? Looks like that it still doesn't have a licence yet (according to the EDB website).

I'm sure that they'll be able to get license by Sept since this is their 2nd branch already, so it should be really easy for them. If for any reason that they are unable to get a license by then, parents or helpers may be asked to remain in the waiting area while the school conducts classes. However, this is worst-case scenario, and I am sure that they will have a license by Sept.

I'm doing research on schools as I live near the new campus. Is this good for students who may look to study in international schools in primary?

Most parents who send their kids to PODS mainly target local DSS/private primary schools. However, PODS's curriculum is good enough to target international primary schools as well. All of their English teachers are native English speakers. May I know which international schools you have in mind? Did you also consider ESF kindergartens?

I'm considering esf kinder, pods, Victoria and man sang as they all seem to have good language background. Any views?

我既意見係, 程度算中上, 學校唔係死谷, 唔係重抄寫去教小朋友, 語境好, 小班, 所以老師跟得足, 重視閱讀同埋好多校內活動, 如有消防員, 警察到校介紹佢地既工作, 又有校外活動, 如探訪老人院, 科學館. 有親子活動如參觀益力廠, 麵包廠等.

其實入得pods,通常都target DSS, IS or Private。 pods嘅強項，係佢重presentation, language, literacy, 品格，同埋小班，老師關顧得好好。對一個讀幼小的兒童來說，小班及老師關顧好，係影響佢日後整體學習的態度。而且，HKPS個 curriculum係非常看重小孩的表達及自信，這點，對日後考DSS係異常重要。
pods在校內有自己辦的小學面試班，不用另外收費，這亦是學校好的地方。
幸好pods仍算新校，而且不是在九龍區，所以一般住新界or 九龍人未必考慮，就無咁多人爭入讀。
至於學費，有些人說貴，但由於無雜費，而且他們由美英澳的外國人教學，中文語境亦超強，我整體唔需要報外面的英文，普通話班，所以總合來說，我反而慳到錢，亦慳到時間。

Pods playgroup students are given priority for PN admission, and would be guaranteed PN seats much earlier than others.

The first set of P1 placement results will be out early next year though, which means the # of applicants is expected to increase next year.

Thank you for your details! Very helpful! I have concern on sending my kid to Pods before reading your post as I wasn't sure if Chinese language level is reasonable.. After your comments, felt this could be right place! Just to be objective, May I ask if kids in pods could completed Kpcc and gapsk advance levels by k2 or k3, if you are aware of these? Not really into exam, just these are objective indicators... Thank you for your help!

Thank you!! Very kind of you! We went to pods campus yesterday and seems that they did gapsk and Kpcc too. Gapsk is beginner level though.. Probably they have other grades just didn't have chance to ask yesterday...
