女兒將於九月往英國讀書，請問可否把香港的手提電話號碼transfer to 英國電話號碼。因女兒想keep香港的電話號碼，方便用 whatsapp與香港的同學朋友聯絡。是否一定要保留香港的上網本plan。看過‘whatsapp FAQ’, 有教如何 transfer 新號碼去舊號碼 (whatsapp accout)，但是否只限於同區的電話號碼？

我都有研究過呢個問題同問左d留學生。
香港個電話要繼續比錢養住佢。如果只帶一個電話去讀書，whatsapp 就唔好 update 用英國電話號碼，咁就可以英國語音電話 + 香港電話 whatsapp. 不過，外國識的朋友如果想 whatsapp 你就要加香港個電話，會怪怪地。

我女會帶兩個電話去，一個香港電話sim card，靠 wifi 來 whatspp，一個用英國電話sim card ，有需要時share data 比香港電話用。香港個電話亦會用來backup，萬一另一個電話壞左，都仲有電話用。

帶兩個電話去。一個繼續用香港電話號碼，咁就繼續用呢個電話同香港朋友whatsapp. 另一個電話，就用英國sim card 同電話號碼，咁英國的朋友就用英國電話號碼whatsapp..同傾計。
兩個電話，兩張 sim card

男仔會覺得煩，但女仔就無問題，因為好多女仔就算在香港都唔止一個電話。

My son was using his iPhone in Hong Kong. Then he went overseas, simply pull out his HK sim card and insert a new simcard. Somehow he was able to use the same whatsapp account and kept all the whatsapp chat.
My son said that, as long as you are using your HK phone number to verify the phone, you will be able to still keep all the chats.
But like wlol said, if someone want to add you (your child), he has to add using a HK number. That is kind of weird.
To solve this problem, ask your child to add that person instead and send him a whatsapp. Then your child's contact/chat will be on his phone.

其實英國興唔興用whatsapp ? 我知 whatsapp 係香港人至愛，其他國家的人，有好多其他選擇。
如果佢地喜歡用 FB messenger ...咁就真係唔駛比香港電話比人。

Thanks all. According to ninetendo, it is no need to transfer the hk no. to the uk no. Just changed the sim card. But we have to keep the hk plan. Is it right?

Since my son comes back to HK regularly, we keep his phone number anyway. We are using the Smartone bundle plan, $4XX for 3 numbers to share the call time and data. My son, my daughter (still in HK) and me share the bundle plan. So when he comes back to HK, he can use his HK number (with data). So far, it works fine.
If you do not keep the HK no., and it is sold eventually to another person, and that person use the number to register his phone with whatsapp, you sons whatsapp would be disabled. So I think you have to keep the hk number.

只要你係用HK電話號碼登記whatsapp, 咁你去到邊個國家都好, 你就算換其他sim card, whatsapp 一樣係收HK登記果個號碼, 我去台灣, 日本旅行, 一樣換左當地sim card上網, 但一樣係收HK電話之whatsapp

想keep香港的電話號碼最平的辨法應是買一張香港電話儲値卡。將用緊的電話號碼轉到儲値卡養住個電話號碼！！

吾好意思，我在這方面知識有限，所以問清楚--即是在英國買將 sim card( 如3， pay as you go), 英國 phone no. ，香港朋友仍可 whatsapp 你, 只要是用香港電話號碼登記 whatsapp 和只要養住個香港電話號碼。便可收到 whatsapp。有否需要在whatsapp 的設定做 transfer / migrate data

都有諗過咁做，亞女是用電訊數碼，佢哋無儲值卡

你系香港用電話號碼登記左whatsapp, 例如電話號碼系99998888, 咁你部電話，衹要一上網，whatsapp就會收到電話號碼99998888的信息，就算你“蚊”走張sim card，或者換咗第二張sim card，衹要你whatsapp登記號碼無變，就係會收到99998888的信息.
whatsapp系靠上網收信息，並唔系靠sim card收信息，所以你部電話無入sim card都一樣收到whatsapp。
你到左英國之後，無論你部電話，有冇香港sim card，或者入咗英國嘅sim card，衹要登記號碼冇變，你部電話一上網就只會收到香港電話號碼99998888的信息，乜嘢設定都唔使做，一開機就用得。希望你明白，可以幫到你😊

唔駛咁麻煩，直接插外國sim card 就得。到用whatsapp時， whatsapp 問乜都唔好理，咁就用到。

我想問邊間電訊公司可以將號碼轉去儲值sim card ? 調番轉，我就試過。我本來以為等電話約滿，轉平plan或轉台順便轉平 plan。

多謝哂各位為我解答問題！！原來咁簡單，換句話咩都吾使做，只要 keep 住用香港電話號碼和買一張外國上網卡便可。

另一問題，英國電話號碼只是for 英國境內日打出打入，否則就當長途電話計。如當你在英國，而在英國的朋友想whatsapp你，佢哋應該預先add 你的香港號碼？不是add英國電話號碼。是否永遠不用 uk no 做 whatsapp

總結兩地用whatsapp的經驗：

1. 只要是同一電話，換sim card後別人仍可whatsapp你，whatsapp是跟機不是跟SIM CARD。

2. 因此換去英國sim card後，新朋友要加你，要告訴他”舊” 電話號碼及以前地方的地區字頭，例如由香港去英國後，要用852XXXXYYYY才可以whatsapp，但舊朋友完全照用。

3. 同樣在英國，要加新朋友，就要加上英國的地區字頭，如44XXXXXYYYYY。

其實嚴格來說，我覺得whatsapp是跟註冊用的EMAIL。

我想問下大家...giffgaff ... UK 3 ....如果我去個網頁register 個 account ( for top up) ...佢會要我填個英國地址...跟住去到 top up 個 part ...佢話張 debit/credit card 的地址要用剛才登記用的地址。但我d card ，雖然係同 UK HSBC 開的，但地址都係香港地址，咁 top up 到嗎？
我二月用的那張 3 sim card, 我想入少少錢養住佢。我另外亦有幾張未 activate 的 giffgaff sim card, 都想activate 左去，就係去到呢個step 唔知點攪好。

另外 3 sim card據我所知，CREDIT係唔會EXPIRE，唔駛入錢養住佢，只要180天內有用過：
Where a Top-up is bought in-store and a 16-digit code provided, the Top-up needs to be activated within 90 days of buying it. Once activated, Top-ups have no expiry date, unless there is no activity at all on an account for 180 days as Three reserves the right to terminate or suspend unused accounts.

我見之前有家長話每個月在網上幫仔女top up giffgaff card. 理論上，如果張 giffgaff card 係幫人買，例如 yahoo 拍賣，咁佢 top up 張 card 就一定同登記地址唔同。所以我想問清楚。
3 張 card 有免費歐洲 data roaming...所以我想留住比我大女用...細女，我就應該用 giffgaff.

UK 3 張 sim card ...我 create online account 時求其入個英國地址 ....當我再入UK credit card 資料....過埋 Master card secure code ...到最後都話我張 credit card 地址唔夾輸入地址 .... 失敗

Giffgaff ...我照版煮碗咁做....ok 左， activate 左張 sim card ... 成功 top up 左 10磅。

咁為左方便我幫兩個女 top up 電話，我估都係用 giffgaff ...等近出發我先再 activate 其他 sim card.

I came across similar problem when I tried to top up UK Vodafone sim card using HSBC UK credit card. I tried for a few times, either leave the postal code blank or just input something, all failed.

Then a day later I received a call from HSBC UK. They were trying to ascertain if it was me myself who tried to make the online top up, for fear that my credit card has been fraudulently used by someone else. I told them my problem and they let the transaction go through. However when I asked them what I should do if I come across similar problem in future, they told me that I could call up the bank to arrange for approval -- however I really hesitate to call up the bank using phone banking -- there was so much verification that I had to go through, it is really a nightmare that I would try to avoid as much as I could.

係呀...打電話去 UK HSBC 就係好似審犯咁.真係呀慣。
我將張 giffgaff sim card 放入 samsung 手機，真係用到，咁應該 OK。不過，放入小米手機又用唔到喎。我部小米手機係用來去旅行用，佢同 giffgaff唔夾的話，我又要在另一部手機裝番 d apps。 UK 3 sim card 又用到小米手機，都唔知點解。

我 UK 3 top up 時，credit card 試左兩次，希望佢唔好搵我啦，有排解釋。
