I'm living in Tai Po and I would like to have my kid going to International school. There's not much choice in NT. I could name only ESF, Japanese international school , ICS. There's one called Norwegian international,which is my neighborhood school.

I don't see a lot of comments with this school. Can anyone share any info about this school ?

What I concern most is what happen after kindergarten. Is there any primary or even high school section ?

U can arrange a tour with the school and ask whatever questions u have in your mind. Getting first hand info from school is always a good start.

Yes I emailed them for school tour. Now I'm waiting for their reply . I'm just anxious to know if kinder students are all got promoted to primary school? I read a few posts here that the no of seat for primary is not enough for all kinder students. I wish to know if that is for real . Thanks alot

Sorry I cannot open your page.... But I find one post talking about the admission rate for primary from kinder...

50%? Really that little ? Is there any NIS parent here who could verify that ? Thanks ally

在大埔有1地1校上年供國際學校申請，好快會有結果，留意吓。

其實唔難想像吖，好似上次SAE都有34個團體申請，今次斷估都唔會只得Eton對大埔有興趣啩:

This is just my guess... I see a tendency that the government is giving away vacant site or land to school organizations which have never launched in hk. I expect those sites in tai po will finally been taken by branded name schools, especially those from Europe .

其實NIS 係一間好好的國際學校。老師好take care 小朋友。我的小朋友渡過愉快的幼稚園及year 1的學校生活。但由於無法擴充校舍, 但入讀人數不斷增加的關係, 小學已經採取混级的班制。例如1/2 of yr1 student & 1/2 of year 2 student combine 為一班. 這點令我有點保留。剛巧有另一間學校有位, 所以唯有轉校。現在我小朋友時常想返NIS 玩及見下老師同學

冇辨法啦。你見政府個勢係俾有名外國辨學團體。俾新嘅學校又多d bargaining power
I like NIS. The biggest drawback is no guarantee transfer to Elementary school from kindergarten

NIS吾中標，係可惜，但始終有多5間IS，佢地會有小學部，自然就多咗位比小朋友申請。

讀NIS幼稚園讀得好，英語達一定水平，都為考其他IS小學大好基礎。

My son got accepted to NIS and ESF, we picked NIS mostly because of its Christian education and we prefer smaller school. We first heard about this school through some friends who spoke highly of their teachers and curriculum. My friends' kids are still enrolling in the school now and they are great kids.

It's a very good school. Small no of students. Eg k1&k2 has 15 students but with teacher, assistant, cleaning staff to look after.
If u want to have higher chance to get into k1, u can join playgroup. Their playgroup is awesome. Playing and teaching. Teachers with very good teaching skills and patience.

For year 1, they still have almost 100% admission from k2. (Not formal stat) before 2014，they have 100% guarantee. For 2014,2015, they expand k1&k2, so the place in year 1 is not enough to fit all. But so far, they have composite class (mix year 1&2) to solve this problem. This year, there are some non NIS kindergarten students admitted to year 1. Don't worry. Just apply it.

there are parents help out in running events. my girl spent 2 years in NIS kindie. we didn't speak English at home with her but she learned a lot of English communication including some difficult vocabulary from school. The school really builds up a good environment for kids to buid up their confidence, communication in English and Mandarin (every day with 35min Mandarin lessons). my girl never afraid of raising her questions to stranger and gave out her opinions. Teachers are very caring and even parents feel like a home at school. as we no longer be able to afford high school fee, I have to change my girl to a less expensive schools but i would say NIS is really an excellent school and kids there are very down to earth

my situation is similar to yours. my kid just started k1 and we didn't speak English at home. do you think the english language environment in NIS is sufficient enough for a kid to apply other international primary school after 2 years? is your kid native? or any additional English training is required?
