My kid told me they played five games but she didn't mention the detail. She did bring me a picture that she drew during the assessment. For her it's pretty much as normal as what she played at kinder so she really enjoyed it.
As for the parents talk, first the staff gave us a brief introduction about the school and then asked us several questions like, does your kid like to make friends, does she speak English at home, what's her favorite activity, how would you describe your kid's language level, etc.
No pressure at all. You can discuss anything that you concern about with them. Since my daughter is my only child, we even discussed about the one child per family policy once ruled in mainland. It was a quite pleasant experience.

Thanks for the detailed sharing! These certainly helped many of us (including me of coz) understand how the whole process works.

In the first letter, it said will be prioritised according to residential zone? Does it meant that the chance is higher if u live close to the school?

Applications are SORTED first by residential zone and then by priority group.
In addition, as the Education Bureau requirements, at least 70% of the total students enrolled will qualify as ‘non-local’, defined as being holders of an overseas passport (guess this might change when ESF stops receiving subsidy from the government)

The first letter was when ESF Central Office received the applications, they are sorted (not prioritized) and forwarded to the individual foundation schools according to which catchment zone the applicant's residential address falls into. As long as you live within the zone, whether it is next door to or 3 miles away from the school makes no difference.
The prioritization comes later, after the schools have received the applications, they are prioritized into different groups, i.e. sibling, alumni, kindergarten etc etc, and then within the same group further prioritized by the random number allocated to each application, e.g. a kindergarten child with random number 10 will come before another kindergarten child with number 100 but behind a sibling with number 500.

Thanks for your clarification. Does it mean if you lives in Kowloon, u must go for Tsing Yi ESF but not WKS ESF kinder? I thought only primary school will sort according to residential zone.

Kindy does not have zoning system. Zones apply for primary n secondary schools.

No I don't think so. Still quite a number of kids from our kindy are on waiting list.

With all due respect, what's the point that you're trying to make in this thread, dude?
We were definitely very happy for the opportunity but at the same time felt sorry for the other applicants. There are many possible reasons for kids on the waiting list not getting an interview besides simply having bad luck in a random draw. Whatever the reason is, I wish you all the best.
