I don't think so, all lectures sould be taught in English in HKU,except some courses like history or language. By the way, Chinese students who can study in HKU are not stupid, but higher IQ than most students,therfore English is not their trouble

I do not think the situation is that bad at HKU.
May be other universities have more serious issues. But I think those got admitted to HKU (or even CUHK) should have reasonable standard of english.

可以午飯去港大飯堂, 大陸人的確唔少, 但佢地英文唔係想像中咁差

我反而聽講有香港教授用廣東話就香港學生，令內地學生聽唔明，不過港大應較少這個情況。
