how important is using fingertips and elbow turning in piano playing? Some teachers don't emphasise on these while these are compulsory for some.

所有事情都應該在合理範圍內進行、最終為"音色"服務.....
這些都與老師功力有關, 當然是不容易的事, 能做到老師不多, 更何況被教的孩子!當需要的時候,就要找更理想的老師了。還看要求!
孩子總是從錯誤中學習.....早改早享受而已!

Very important to understand how and why we need to play with finger tips, and very important to understand when and how to raise elbow.

Both playing with finger tips and turning wrists could be important under different circumstances. However, more importantly, depending on how old the student is and how much his/her fingers and hands have developed. With no doubts that these techniques are important to be learned in earlier stagrs of learning, but if the student is too young and the fingers and hands are not developed enough, forcing to play with finger tips and turning wrists could cause injuries.

in general , is 6 years old too young to play using fingertips and elbow movement?
