普通 local family, and we want our kid to have a less stressful childhood (That's why we aim iB/ international). We hope he can have a good command of English and we are trying our best to provide support, at the same time we hope to have an acceptable level of chinese.

Victoria difficult to get in famous IS, unless you aim at VSA(strictly speaking not an IS), and not straight in even though you grad from Vic.

I'm sorry i use the word "famous". I should not use the word famous.
What i want to say is popular. These schools are popular (then famous) because their school fees are not very expensive with good track record in teaching quality and 校風ok.
These include all ESF primary, CIS, ICS, SIS etc. Nearly all these IS have their own kinder so outsiders are not easy to grap a seat in foundation year or P1. Possible, butn not very easy.

都吾係，維幼好多學生都去到你講的famous IS，我認識的都好多，不過，每個家庭都有自己的努力，吾係話入咗去讀就一定掂。

I heard that ESF kindergarten has 1 hours of Mandarin session everyday, which is more than i expect. But ESF teaches Simplified Chinese.

Difficult to get in, whereas ESF seems offer a better chance for its kindie students. So we are torn.
I studied the website, ESf kindie has only for chinese once per week.

Actually, the teachers in ESF kinder encourage parents to communicate with their kids in english at home, particularly if you're aiming at ESF primary. More than 1 friends with kids in ESF kinder told me teachers asked them to talk to their kids in english during parents meeting.
If you're sure about the IS path, choose ESF. If you're not sure, Vic is better but be prepared you will then lost the priority in being admitted to ESF primary.

如果target 係IS,我會prefer ESF, 我search緊mandarin class比仔仔，發現都有啲structural program係比IS學生去學中文，包括寫，講同閱讀。。。普通level嘅中文應該可以學到。。。

你講得好啱，老師係為咗上foundation year嘅assessment咁提點家長要令學生習慣全英溝通。
我friend小朋友在ICS, 差點就因呢個原因上唔到小學，好彩conditional offer之後俾佢上。
家庭中用母語溝通，對小孩性格發展最理想。

因為小朋友係mix, 黎緊又係讀esf kindie..依家發覺佢d廣東話唔好, 之後返學又剩係教得個少少中文(仲要係殘體字...= =")好想佢有好d既中文底子...

其實ESF 幼稚園升ESF 小學係冇優先的
給想小朋友英文好當然ESF幼稚園比較好
但如讀ESF 就一定要讀小學中學，唔好想轉返出來讀
因冇咩中文學
幼稚園我唔知一星期有幾多國語，小學就每天8個字但因要行去轉課室所以1天預30-35分鐘左右上課時間
同2016年開始入讀會冇政府資助學費會加大約20% （13年預現在唔知）
同要比維修費YR1 入學就會貴D Yr6 入就平D 幾多唔記得 要看返Email 先知
同每間小學帶少少唔同，要看校長注唔注重國語

我想說esf幼稚園升esf小學一定是有優先的！首先，小學發出的面試offer就基本上由esf kindie的學生和有siblings的首先消化，這種情況尤其體現在新界區的兩間esf kindie和一所esf小學之上，這所esf小學發給街外人的面試offer少之又少。而港島區有一間esf kindie，5間esf小學，去年這家幼稚園99%都順利升讀了esf小學，仔細看幼稚園的annual report便知。而港島5間小學學額充足，除了從自己幼稚園收生，依舊可以留足機會給街外人。但這種情況在新界的esf小學（僅一所）是基本不可能發生的。保險起見，如果target esf小學，一定先從幼稚園鋪路。
