Can anyone share any comments or comparison on these 2 schools? Good points and bad points? Their curriculum looks similar. Thank you.

Totally different. KCIS kindergarten has only 1/2 hr PTH each day, the rest of 2.5 hr are taught in English.

I don't know enough about KCIS to comment. The only differences I know are: KCIS operates half day kindergarten and starts at K1; their cut off date is 31/12 (that means small B can get in but you don't have the choice of putting them behind an academic year and turn them to super Big B); they use traditional Chinese. KIS starts from K2; is a full-day school; the cut-off date is 31/8 (so that means they don't take small B) and uses simplified Chinese.

Reception at KIS, when should one apply? The year before the child starts Reception ?
