In case there are new parents here who live in Discovery Bay or close enough to travel there (ie. Tung Chung, Ma Wan, South Lantau, Tsing Yi etc), there's another possible good option to select from in the future: Discovery Montessori Academy.

My son was in their kindergarten (Discovery Montessori School in DB) since he was 1 year old. I must say it is an amazing little school. My son learned so much and developed so well there, that I regret taking him out of it when he was accepted into a through-train school this year. Discovery Montessori announced back in June that they will start a primary school (months after we took the through-train offer and told DMS we are not returning the coming year). What's giving me a stronger pang now is that I just found out they will apply a combined Montessori + PYP(IB) teaching approach!

I just read DMA's materials sent to me by my friend with kids still there. If they can successfully get accreditation by both IB & AMI, then the program should be pretty solid. The problem with PYP-IB, as we all know, is that it is basically a philosophy and not exactly a curriculum, and given IB & Montessori has so much in common in terms of teaching philosophy, Montessori can provide the solid working methods which PYP lacks. The good thing about combining IB into Montessori is that IB gives it a fresh boost. Montessori is over 100 years old whereas IB is based on the newest research on how children learn.

DMA will definitely has its teething pain as a new school as well as a Montessori / IB hybrid, but i think in the long run it will become a great academy. I wish them all the best from the deepest of my heart.

Can you please tell more in detail such as the tuition fees and/or debenture. Any school bus service etc.

DMA School Fees 2015-16
Annual Tuition: (for full day)
Kindergarten (age 3-6) $110,250
Lower Primary (age 6-9) $115,500
Upper Primary (age 9-12) $126,000

Debenture:
A) Corporate debenture 200K or
B) One off Levy 25K or
C) Annual Levy 6K

I do not see their primary school info online yet, so I guess everything is still at it's infancy stage. Do keep an eye on it though, as I know before they conceived about primary, they already has a long waiting list.

good news for me as I live in TC.....I wonder how big their campus would be tho, will it be similar to Discovery Mind?

You can always check DMA out after they are ready. From their descriptions the facilities seem quite complete, but I wouldn't trust in it until I see them with my own two eyes ;)
