請問King's School Canterbury好嗎？
Kings School Canterbury no doubt is an excellent school. It is one of the oldest in the country and is very prestigious. As Kings has very strong links with the Cathedral, I think there might be more of a Christian feel than other schools. The school Governors have close relationship with Church of England.
In 2011, Kings ranked 37 but it drops to about 100 now. I think the drop in ranking is mainly due to its all-around curriculum which is different from other top notch schools to place emphasis on academic performance only. I know three Hong Kong Kings students being admitted by Cambridge said that they only spent 50% time in studies in Kings while other time engaged in sports and music. With about 800 boarders, Kings has many ECAs and students are required to join one of ECAs after school.
All my friends previously studied Kings highly recommend Kings because of its heritage, idyllic setting, pastoral care, reputation and academic excellence. One of my friends' boy even gave up the offer of elite state Cochester Royal Grammar School to study Kings Year 12.
I think Kings is of same caliber as Charterhouse, Oundle, Abingdon etc. For higher ranking schools, Tonbridge, Winchester, St Paul Boys and Westminster are also of excellent words of mouth.

好多都可信，可以去以下LINK望望，另外有冇搵agent幫手？佢地的建議有時幾有用，你比的範圍其實好大，因為倫敦好大好多學校，如果加一小時車程就更大，但都算近倫敦。

阿仔個同學仔今年入左Brighton, Year 9
可能佢未適應倒, 佢話boarding 好boring, 啲HK學生好自我, 唔理其他人, 但啲本土學生就好幼稚
總之係唔啱玩, 希望佢可以快啲溶合倒

Brighton成績勁好，去年GCSE有95.6％學生攞A*/A, 今年差咗都有89.5％學生GCSE攞A*/A, 差不多個個學生有近10A的成績!

以上學校成績都好，但每人優次不同，例如學費、距離、交通、校風及香港人數目等，可以跟優次慢慢收窄範圍，當然你可以繼續搵，但WARWICK距離倫敦機場128km，呢個範圍包括的學校好多。

內裏原因真係唔知, 但Winchester 都屬於一些比較貴族的名校, 類似, Eton, Harrow, Radley 之類, 名氣當然冇頭兩間咁大, 但你預左大多數學生都係非富則貴

如果你自己同學校聯絡及交登記費，之後Agent係唔會幫你跟進，考試的話係可以，但係會收考試費，如係Dolphin度考Kings，每次考試都收錢； AA我問過，都係可以但收費。佢地唔會幫你留位，呢D你要自己同學校傾。你或者問清楚Agent會唔會幫你先決定係唔係自己交登記費。

我阿大當年自己報了七間私校，每間監考費超過二千元，花了超過一萬元在香港英國文化協會做監考，但如經AA或Dophin報只需數百元。
以我兩個仔的經驗, 考私校易過考官校好多，阿細排名一百以內的私校收他還叫他跳班，但考官校排成三百都唔收他。

If Tonbridge is one of your target, you can consider registering with the school yourself. It has an interview and examination exercise during the Chinese New Year and many HK families attend every year. It may give out conditional offers for some candidates. According to the headmaster, they have a higher chance of being admitted finally than those applicants who apply and take exam in HK.

Winchester college run its own selection test in HK for a few years. Not much value to go as an late applicant IMHO.

I see no reason to try avoiding those elite schools just because someone else label them as 貴族學校。If the school thinks your kid is good enough, why not let him try?
At least Tonbridge and Harrow will give musical elites extra consideration. Their orchestras have paid vists to HK in the last few years. Feel free to send them your sons'CV in music or video recording of his performances. If your son is really a strong candidate, an ordinary visit as planned may well turn into a surprise.

Definitely Westminster, the best of the best in the heart of Central London. But they only take (extremely few) Year 12s. And you must fly over for interview.

Chetham's School of music, 學術全英排97，學校有個特點，就是學術音樂雙發展，如果你想將演奏成為第一或第二職業，Chetham's有世界一流的音樂家做老師，學費自然貴，但有得申請補助， 如果只是重學術，£3160/term學費仲平, 有Day有boarding 選擇，正曼城市中心，Victoria station隔離，我open day幫朋友遞申請表時去參觀，學校先進設備齊全，新舊building，學生老師溫文有禮，學音樂的人氣質零舍唔同, 我遲些upload我參觀的相片係度。

我大仔當年報一間排名頭50的私校Year 10, 個朋友係英國見過校長知道只得Waiting位，間學校一様照招Year 10生，係香港一樣有成70人考，每個收百幾磅考試費，我就覺得學校很商業化。

咁⋯⋯報考哈佛／耶魯等學校都要80USD，每年3萬人報佢地賺成2000萬，點計先
計我話，有機會報考一間有>60％機會入oxbridge/ivy league既中學, 一人一萬都照殺啦，可能每個人價值觀唔同啦

問題不在錢，而是收報考人數，如無甄選制度預先過濾報考生資格等同來者不拒，明知自己學校要求全A*~A就應有所篩選，現時這種做法就有賺錢嫌疑，有些家長不知要求的情況下想博一博，等同丟錢到鹹水海，很唔抵，我女兒成績雖然在要求中，但500人應考，我也無信心鬥得過國內尖子，如要再拼家底及背景，人外有人，天外有天…
