請問有冇家長嘅子女喺Birmingham讀書?通常由Heathrow轉機去定搭tube+火車定坐coach？我見CX d機去旺季時成$37,xxx，貴得好恐怖，但其他D機transfer就要等好鬼多個鐘。

Coach is very convenient . From heathrow to Birmingham is around 3 hours. U can check national express for schedule. Before, if I arrived UK at around 6 am, I took the coach that departs at around 8 am.

如去birmingham 機場，我坐EK, 時間0K，只坐£1x-20 taxi 到學校。坐CX 便到Heathrow, £150 taxi有伴share, 就算坐火車，班次很密。

你可以坐CX 或Emirates (EK) 去Manchester再去Birmingham會好過由LHR再搭coach.
我囡囡在Manchester讀書, 佢去Birmingham都係1個鐘,好方便.

建議由Heathrow搭coach去Birmingham，約2.5-3hr，如果轉機就買有轉去Birmingham的公司，唔好買CX。搭coach由Manchester機場去Birmingham約2.5hr。

喺杜拜轉機要搭車嗎？嗰度有冇嘢行下？2-3個夠時間轉機嗎？最怕第一班機delay而趕唔切第二班機唔知點算好。唔好意思咁多問題。

杜拜機場大到㬨親你，一定好多shops 及食店。試過要轉車。
我不買學生票，改一次收$1200, 平過學生票$1700-2000。30Kg 行李兩件。

我下次試星航，平4千，故夠在Heathrow 坐的士回校。

Taking train would be faster. From Heathrow to Birmingham takes around 2 hours. At the train station in Birmingham, take a taxi to the school.

路過，可否多口問句令郎/千金在University of Birmingham安排了那裡的宿位。小女下年都有興建到這裡讀書，但睇過下大學的幾個accommodation area 都非步程可達，上Google street view見d路都幾靜下，對女孩子來說確實有點擔心! 另外請問有冇join埋個宿舍meal plan？

另外，Heathrow應該是冇火車直去birmingham的，要坐去London Euston車站才有車直發至birmingham
Euston (London) > New Street (Birmingham) > University Station (Birmingham)
計埋轉車時間全程大約1小時47分鐘。票價非繁忙時間大約12鎊，唔介意坐多30分鐘的慢車，票價可以平至6鎊。

我上星期和太太都到過University of Birmingham, 如上綱預訂火車票到new street station2人只需15.98磅，但即日買2人單程票要69.8磅。
所以要預早訂火車票。

個人覺得Birmingham很雜，如有得揀可考慮其它university.

Birmingham U平的宿舍如Shelly Oak campus離university很遠，由Birmingham U步行需50分鐘，由u行去Shelly Oak Train station有很多中東人及黑人，再由Shelly Oak 車站去Shelly Oak 宿舍都要18分鐘及很靜，所以由Shelly Oak站搭去university站都唔方便，非繁忙時間半小時一班車，但由宿舍main campus就有很多巴士，我相信學生會選擇由宿舍搭巴士到main campus。

Your information is correct. One needs to take a train from Heathrow to London (at Euston station). Then, take another train to Birmingham.

但你要計埋Heathrow去London Euston車站個程，要成個鐘，兩程要兩個多鐘，而且拎埋行李搭地鐵轉火車，都幾花氣力及精神，搭Coach有人搬行李上落，一定有位坐，如果路線及時間配合，我會選coach。

Taking airport express from Heathrow to Paddington should be around 20 minutes. Then taking a taxi to Euston will be much faster. I choose train because I don't like sitting in a coach for 3 to 4 hours. I tried once and told myself that I would not take it again for long journey. Of course, if the student has a lot of luggages and don't like that "complicated" route, then taking a coach is rather convenient. But remember to sit on the left hand side to "watch" your luggage (whch have been put in the luggage compartment) as the bus will stop on route several times before arriving Birmingham.

你的親身體驗是最有參考價值的，謝謝！其實不難想像，Birmingham 是英國第二大城市，治安應該都不會好到那裡的了。找到了一個UK police網站，只要輸入英國各地的郵區編號，便可查閱當地的罪案宗數及分類，區域可以分到好細，極有參考價值。網址如下：

我到過Bath, York, Durham, Kent, Reading 及Norwich, 會覺得這六個區份都是讀書的好地方, 而University of Bath及Durham排名應比Birmingham高。

University of Bath/Warwick/Durham 也是女兒目標之一，排名高相對入學要求也嚴苛一點，學生成績好讀書風氣自然好，只不過年初女兒考IELTS的成績只達overall 7.0，而仍未達分科7.0的要求，下月再考第二次，希望她成功達標啦!

Some other universities are also good and the hostels are close to the campus teaching buildings, such as Loughborough, Leicester. Student life there is much simple than that in the big cities. Also, the community is relatively less complicated.

If your daughter would like to live in Birmingham, then Aston is another good choice as they have on campus accommodiation.

My opinions are based on my memory to the places. If I am wrong, please correct me.
