My daughter was switched from Victoria to ESF. Coming will be K2, so far so good. Now she is more enjoy schooling and becones for confident.

PTH: Victoria put more effort on this area.

菠蘿媽媽，is Esf more happy school than Victoria?

My son (2.5 yrs old) mainly speaks Cantonese. Will this be a problem at k1 interview at esf or Victoria?

The play visit is conduct in English, so fair English is necessary.

He is looked after by a English childminder since age of 1 for 3 days a week, 8-6pm. Hence he can understand English fully.

But because we speak Cantonese at home, he prefers speaking Cantonese and not really English.

I know esf k1 interview is in jan, what about Victoria?

Oh. Could you please share more about your daughter's change? Is it because the different cirriculum? But as far as I know, both ESF and Victoria use IB approach. Thanks in advance.

May I know if you hold any foreign passports? I heard not everyone has interview and I want to see how much chance I have...

For Victoria i believe it is a reverse. You must make sure the child has HKID and permanent residence status, because it is officially a private school and not a International school.

The difference? IS require minimum 70% of the student body holding a foreign passport. (I believe ESF is similar?) PIS [private independent school] on the other hand require minimum 70% of the student body holding a permanent HK residence status. Honestly in reality it doesn't make much of a difference as many applicants has both, but for those who doesn't, do consider if that would affect their chance of getting in.

我兩個仔都是讀think，我用了七年時間看這學校，老師很有愛心，尤其是nursery既時候，英語能力好好。兩個仔現就讀ESF

Victoria K seems not an international school from its graduates mostly 70-80% went to local schools, only part of it went to its VSA primary school, isn't it?

Victoria is PIS (Private Independent School), and it is true many Victoria KG kids goes to local school. However, I also found out many Victoria kids moved onto top IS for reception after K1, so you cannot see their record on their K3 graduation list (and some goes to ESF P1 after finishing K2). It really depends on the family, really. For families already speaking in English, they go to Victoria to learn Chinese.
