2012-Dec BB, 打算唔讀PN, 直入K1...Any parents share same thoughts??

I'm HK born but educated overseas after HK high school. My spouse is a westerner. Home language is English, BB's mainly using English at home though I use Cantonese sometimes...

Cannot afford international schools...

Why is HK education system becoming so "..............."

唔想讀咪唔讀囉，無人迫你。又未至於講到香港教育制度 corrupted 呀？

你見全港 2嵗班學位比幼稚園少，就知道事實唔係人人讀。多數想讀 PN 不外乎係想比小朋友早點習慣校園生活、學下野；如果係第一胎就可以比佢接觸下其他小朋友；有 D 家長就當係託兒所等自己多 D 時間.....

你覺得無需要、咪無需要囉。Take it easy.

好多人都吾讀N, 亦得好少位好難入。
不過這是個人選擇，不関教育制度問題喎

Just a suggestion for u.
If u don't plan to send your kid to international school, teach him/her Cantonese at home as well.
Most kindergartens are bilingual ...

Many thanks for sharing! 9 out of 10 of my colleagues said no school will admit your kid if no PN or N experience the year prior...

are those tiger moms I've been talking to??

I think your colleagues are just being honest. Although there are some parents in bk said their child can admit k1 without studying PN , they are limited cases I think. Studying PN definitely helps!

我都諗緊下年讀pn做大b定下年k1做細b好

好苦惱。但都會觀察仔仔呢一年既自理情況，睇下咩情況適合仔仔

It depends on which kind of kindergarten you are looking for. If your request is just a "kindergarten".. There must be a seat for you .. But if you look for those brand names, you must have some preparation.. They really get interviews/ tests for both kid and parents
