ESF的孩子比較多款式，唔應該，亦唔需要個個成績高的。

有狀元是bonus，DBS平均分38好高呀，英基超過900人應考，平均分好難去到咁高水平，蘋果今日有報導，有相張影英基8個狀元都似是亞洲人，或者亞洲人考試真係叻D

今年好似第一屆全部中文A，英文A，我不知今年人數及最終成績，如果套入去年數據，會下跌0.4-0.5分，去年約有十個學生考中文B。

DB 仔DSE 連扑兩年，上年IB 成績好D就擺在homepage highlight,DSE 成績提都唔提，閃閃縮縮。講多款式，DB 年年買咁多運動音樂專才，應不少過ESF. 鬥多基層，兩間都有fee recession .

SIS(HK)’s second secondary cohort performs well at IB exams

Singapore International School (Hong Kong) congratulates the Class of 2014, our second secondary cohort, on their impressive performance at the IB examinations in the May 2014 session. Of the 34 students registered for the IB diploma, 94% successfully obtained the diploma, and 41% obtained scores of 40 points and above. The mean score of IB diploma recipients was 38, while the highest scorer obtained 44. 31% of the students received the bilingual diploma, which is awarded when students study two language and literature courses at native or near native level.

Average mark impressive, but 6% did not get the diploma seems to be on the high side.

May be the base number is low, 6% eqv to 2 students.

The problem with SIS is that it has the obligation to keep those under performed students, especially those students who have studied there since primary 1. Before the secondary school was established, many good students had left for GSIS & CIS. SIS has about 120 primary 1 students but only 34 IB students.

十年人士几翻新, 当中家境会变, 孩子性情亦变, 品格学坏, 学校有神奇法术都好难做到一个也不能少的地步, 除非老早把有问题和有困难的学生劝退, 甘就好鬼容易做到100% 40+分.

今年全部英文A1 （Lit），明年才開始取消中文B

同感。近幾年，多了本地學校辦 IB，令整個生態越來越本地化。多半分少半分已當是成敗，學習氣氛已不同以往，可借。

是真的破坏了IB的学习精神了. 原来是希望达到全才教育的课程, 培养孩子的独立自主, 结果成了补习社的补底财路, 不少学生每月的补习费用比学校学费还要多很多.

令人鼓舞是认识两位今年的满分壮元, 没有往外补习, (爸爸自少在家有教导, 上了高班便停了, 太容易失感情) 算是希望还是在明天吧!

最愛看到小朋友有自己努力，中學靠補習，上到大學就知味道。我識有博士生，年年暑假就幫D大學生補數，有部份是讀英國名牌大學。又聽聞，外國好些大學已看透香港各學校的「真正實力」，因為好多高分的，入到去都讀得唔係咁好，人地開始越來越小心，唔會只看分數，還參考學生高中的師兄師姐在大學的表現，再調整收生分數。

我記得"作死不離3兄弟"有以下情節：

第二男主角(攝影師)於家中被老父怪責因為愛上無謂嗜好(攝影)因而令成績"大幅"下滑，由94分"大幅"跌至91分。第一男主角聽罷這個吹毛求疵既世伯既解說即時忍唔住笑左出來。

平均38+在任何尺度都是難能可貴的好成績!!

有個問題，假設一個選了Eng A Lang & Lit HL. 及Chinese A Literature. SL.
與另一個選了 Eng B Lang & Lit HL. 及Chinese A Literature. SL. 又或者選了Eng A Lang & Lit HL. 及Chinese B Literature. SL
其實有甚麼分別，單靠看分數不看報考科目的level , 是否可以在考得相同分數的學生們分別到他們報考科目的level 有不同的( 當然看cert 可以睇到),,請指教.

單看分數是看不出分別，不論A/B, HL/SL 最高分都是7分，math 亦是，無論是HL/SL or Math Studies, 一樣最高是7分，所以平均分只可做參考

There's no thing called Language B Lang & Lit/Lit etc - a condensed legend would be as follows:
Language A = first/native language
Language B = second language (IBO recommends for those with 3-5 years of experience with that language)

More sub-dividedly, students can opt for Language A Literature or Language A Language & Literature (different syllabus, but both are considered as first language subjects all the same). Both 'streams' also have HL and SL available for students to choose.

There is no 'streaming' for Language B because the course does not cover language or literature to a depth that 'streaming' as in the cases for Language A is required. The only sub-division within Language B is HL and SL.

There are always rumors that Language B is not welcomed by universities when they know a student clearly has the ability to study Language A. (This case is particularly for students in local schools such as DBS and SPCC, that is why Language B is strongly discouraged in these schools) Credits for Language B courses in university are drastically less compared to Language A. Of course for some subjects Language A is necessary (e.g. Law). Language A courses are considered to be comparable to early university level in terms of difficulty; while Language B courses are definitely way too easy if a student has been in local school curriculum studying both English and Chinese from Primary One onwards till before they commence IB. Of course, if language (especially Chinese, for local school students) is not an important issue in fulfilling one's offer/achieving university admissions (for science/engineering degrees for example), then one might opt to do Language B instead of A to 'save' a lot of effort and possibly secure a higher grade, as his/her offer would depend more on the overall score the IB diploma.

IB Results

The average score of our second cohort of IB students is 40 (out of a full score of 45).
Wu Stephanie Oi Lam got the full score of 45. Tao Hampton Guo Shen and Tsui Evangeline Yee Lam got a score of 44. Ho Fei Wan, Lee Zachariah Kwok Tsat and Wang Yuk Pung got a score of 43.
More than 60% of them got a score of 40 or above, compared to the world’s 6.48%.
Our mean subject grade is 6.3 (out of the highest 7), compared to the world’s mean grade of 4.7.

Singapore International School (Hong Kong):
The average of the SIS 2014 IB Result is actually 38.1. The school did not indicate the decimal place on their website.
