i'm an ICS parent. we're a Christian family. In our case, we chose ICS over HKIS simply because ICS is a "real" Christian school which focuses on biblical teachings as much as academics. Although not 100% students are Christian at ICS, but I can be sure my children grow up in our desired environment. As they grow up, parental influence gives way to that from the peers. They will spend more time at school than at home, seeing friends more frequently than parents. I know I'll have a peaceful mind knowing their faith is supported outside our home and church. I'm not sure which school they'll end up going when leaving ICS. But the strong faith they have nurtured at their young age will sure support them when they grow into adulthood.
Nobody can tell which schools will do well academically in the future. And who knows which college or country will stand out in a decade 's time. Education may fail; global economy may collapse. There's only one thing that guarantees my children 's joy and peace - you certainly know what it is.

i support what hay.hay.ma said. in my case, ics is the only is i applied for my son since i think character comes before academic success. personally, i prefer ib curriculum more, but who knows what suits him more? He is still young and i will consider changing school for him if there will be a need later.

read quite a lot (users view ) from this forum about ICS which is my top priority for my girl. feeling that the pick is good.
wanna ask if once admitted to R1, kids can go all the way through to high school.
I heard many many applicants applying for ICS in recent years. A bit worried coz besides ICS, I find no other similar choices in shatin.
since ICS only starts at R1 (ie K1 in local system), plan to place her in international pn next year. again choices in shatin quite limited, can only source box hill and David exodus. want ask seek your advice on anymore choices in shatin and should I consider those in kln (but both my hubby and I are quite reluctant coz just 2.5 yr).
many tks

You are right to what I hear that more and more people applying ICS.
Till this year, sibling priority to R1 is still present, but if the sibling's English / language skills are not good enough, they will give you a chance to second interview.
At the meantime, school provided ~90% promotion rate from R2 to pre-grade 1.
Once again if English is not up to standard then it is heard to be rejected.
The number of students in pre-grade 1 then existing R1 is nearly the same, pre-grade 1 got

Oh, if your girl is an autumn/winter child, then ICS is a better option as she will thrive better as an older child in class.

LOL from what i heard, usually kids are more upset being the youngest in class.
