Which one is better? Dont know how to choose

本來揀咗German,因學校同guardian都認為初學外語生較適合，但呀仔突然話好多同學pick Spanish, 易D咁話,我之前見過有post 話German 對第時做嘢幫助較多，選擇困難症又出現，希望大家比D意見，thx.

I would choose Spanish, easier for foriegner to learn and widely used than German

It depends. If you choose German, there is the chance to further study in Germany if your kid can master the language at certain level. I was told some Universities in Germany is free of charge.

However, Spanish is the language for the world's 3rd largest population after English and Chinese.

想知道小朋友係入讀第幾級而要揀外語? 如果係由Year 9先至開始初學, 最好唔好揀外語, 除非佢有語言天份, 試想吓,
過兩年要考GCSE的外語, 會考喎, 唔容易用兩三年時間讀好一個語言而去考公開試,成績好難會好好
我囡都後悔揀左Spanish, 讀得好辛苦, 比佢再揀, 佢唔會揀, 情願揀其它閑科代替, 如, Music, Arts 之類, 比較容易掌握

我的學校要學兩個語言以上,我揀咗German, Spanish 和 French。我成為咗工程師之後有非常多在德國做野既機會。可是我很喜歡法國的文化，及西班牙的陽光，所以我十幾年來極多用法文和西班牙文，真係好方便。我現在做保母都係推薦他們先學西班牙及法文，然後德文和意大利文。

當然可以自由選擇, 我既心態係, 如果預計倒成績麻麻地, 就唔揀佢地, 就係咁啦

雖然我個仔學緊西班牙文，但其實我想佢學德文多啲(學校只有西班牙文)。

德文
德國就一定要用德文，英文唔得。相信在瑞士、奧地利、比利時識德文都有幫助。

西班牙文
除左西班牙，好似大部份都係南美國家，雖然西班牙文多人講，但唔知多唔多機會用呢？識西班牙文嘅人，唔知佢地識唔識英文？

MY kid learnt Spanish before and she's doing German now. It seems to me that Spanish is easier.

She spent several days in Germany trying to practise her very so so German. She said most of the people talked to her in English, except those old ladies in countryside

In terms of studying in Germany, it appears that world ranking for German universities is not high (perhaps with the exception of engineering). The requirement for German proficiency is also pretty high except for those courses taught by English.

If your kid is interested in hotel management, German is a good choice because you may take the degree in Switzerland or Austria.

I would pick Spanish because it used in more countries and very similar to Italian and Portuguese so in case they want to learn those two languages later, it will be easier.
