ICS or RC

My kid got the offer from ICS and RC, 啟生. For RC, we have to use nomination right but not for ICS.

We are struggling whether we should selected RC as they are using IB program which is getting hotter and more boarder accepted by all countries, and my kid was accepted in year 3 instead of grade 1 (=year 2) in ICS, which means she will one year advance if compare to ICS. On the other hand, ICS attracts us too due to their good discipline and good at English as a well as high academic requirement. ICS also has a smaller class size,although its school fee more expensive than RC but this can be leveraged by the nomination right of RC.

Appreciate all your thoughts and sharing.

因为rc報名時只接受nomination right,而且那時ics又没有位，所有只有二間都報。

For RC's nomination right, did you pay the full HK$400,000 or just the HK$50,000 initial payment? If it is the latter case and you accept the offer from RC you'll have to pay the remaining HK$350,000 right away. This may affect your decision.

I know ppl who graduated from ICS and are working now. Nice people with mild characters. I heard friend of friend's kids going their for primary (later moving back to UK) and they did quite alright academically as well as having good characters. To some people religion is a plus, and ICS is known as a 'real' Christian school. Note thought that the world view of the school could be a bit limited due to their faith, so it really depends on the family...

If I were you, I would go for ICS. You counted many merits for ICS but none for RC. And you even put a wrong Chinese name for RC. It's 啟新書院。Therefore, forget about the initial payment. And enjoy the school life!

If I were you, I'd choose ICS due to its more international student mix.

Hello, I am thinking to apply nomination right for RC, but they set quota.... So it's difficult to apply? Need to physically queue for it? Please share more details of getting RC nomination right, thanks.
