Hi experienced parents, I have a baby born in Nov 13, how should I start school search for PN/ kindy? We live in mid-levels. Which local schools provide a good path for well known primary and secondary schools?
Thanks.

My advice is first research which stream of education you want for your kid. MONTESSORI! IB? LOCAL?
then shortlist a few schools of each stream and further research.
Then apply.

all non international schools can bring ur bb through to local primary. top list or not depends on how you perceice "top". instead of asking this open ending question which i believe parents here may be reluctant to answer you, suggest u check out the list of kindergartens near ur home district. thar would help.

Never trust any so-called "ranking" from any publisher. None of them had done any statistic or survey with school directly.
My suggestion is, you give out your requirements/expectations and asked the others from EK to give you advice.

She will speak English and Cantonese and we would like her to learn 1/2 extra languages.
We are Catholics, so catholic school will be good for her.
What's the difference between half day/ full day? Will she better off doing full day?
We don't mind involving in her school activities.
Thanks.

If you plan for private local school, think u can target on SPN / SPK / GH these type. Those need you to attentheir kinder entry exam. U can check their website for the date of each year's application.
Or u are OK for govt / sub school (in primary) like St.Mary, Marymount etc, any kinder no difference, only your home address or religion and luck do make the diff as they accept kids by lucky draw only.

Agree with you.
SPN and SPK are best bet for girls because of its affiliation with St Paul's Convent (Catholic school).
SPN only.offers whole day program whereas SPK is a half day school.
But all three school mentioned are located in CWB so it depends on which Mid levels area you are residing in.
Suppose you live mid levels near Central or 西半山,you should consider Sacred Heart and St Clare's which are slso Catholic girls kindergarten that feed students to their respective primary schools.
If you do not want Catholic schools, I believe the only Christian kindergartens with reputable affiliated primary schools are Tai Hang True Light and 救恩 on the west side of the island.
