上網做了不少資料搜集，發現了一個有趣現象想同大家分享一下。

我以前未做父母,對香港教育了解不深. 以為只有本地及國際學校，原來宜家多了一種World School (世界學校), 即IB School.

香港家長如果不想子女讀本地學校, (我自已就是), 就多了一個新出路.~~~

其實現時大部分的國際學校，都是IB的。未轉的，也已逐漸計劃轉。

International同world的意思其實也很近似。

I believe schools that have been authorized by the International Baccalaureate educational foundation to offer one or more of their programmes are known as IB World Schools.

International AND local schools can both run the IB programmes. This includes:
- Local direct subsidy schools (DSS)  [Example: DBS, St. Paul etc.]
- Private independent schools (PIS)  [ISF, VSA, Kingston, ESF PIS etc.]
- Engish School Foundation (ESF)  [all secondaries,  & most primaries are gearing toward it]
- International Schools (IS)  [CIS, CDNIS, FIS, SIS, GSIS etc.]

These schools have existed in HK for various lengths of time from 150 years to a few years old, just that they have obtained the authorization to run them in recent years (or from the beginning, depending on the school). As long as they have authorization from the IB association to teach the IB program, they are considered IB World Schools, so IB World School is not a new "the third (or fifth) type" of school.

換句說話, 以前的國際學校是行某個國家的學制(如美國, 美國, 澳洲…)
宜家卻越來越多國際學校選擇行世界共同的學制, 即IB

Some schools have been running IB DP programs for over 20 years in HK. Hardly earth breaking news
