A few personal opinions. The similarities between the two: 1) cost; 2) strong Chinese program; 3) both seem have better reputation for their primary schools, and weaker/developing in secondary. The difference: 1) location - really depends on where you live; 2) YC is a religious school, ISF is not, but puts more emphasis on Chinese virtues;3) YC has really small campuses, which may limit the kids' physical developmentl, ISF has better and newer facilities; 4) YC seems to enjoy better reputation with their in-house artists and musicians; 5) both student bodies are mainly Chinese, YC may have a bit more mainland Chinese (due partly to its location), ISF has attracted a lot more middle/upper class HK professionals.

May i ask why you're not satisfied with YCIS kindergarten? is it because it is not very academic?

For your information, ISF has lots of Mainland Chinese students as well. ISF requires quite a lot of parental input in the kid's study.

I think ISF suits your family's character more. Another option would be SIS if you prefer a even more academically strong school.

ISF's campus is large only in absolute sense. It is not large at all for its enrollment figures. They have 10 classes per year and about 20 students per class. You can probably imagine how crowded it is. They bump into each other when they are leaving the school near the main gate and students of higher years push their way out. Small boys and girls are used to be bumped.
Not sure if you would value those Chinese values/virtues taught by the school. Those values are taught in China but you don't see the majority of Chinese act according to those values.

I have same dilemma with 樓主,though I have replied ISF to take the offer, I am still struggling as I also see the gd side of YCIS. The reason I sent my daughter to ISF was because the academic level in ISF is much higher than YCIS, and our final destination was not ISF. Given that, we doubt that if years later, say year 7, my daughter would be behind standard to go for other IS like CIS or other better schools?! I am not a monster parent but I see my daughter deserves better education. My other concern is our religion background. We are Christian daily and of course it would be gd to stay in YCIS, ISF is no religion. Though I think there is no contradicting values being delivered to my child but the eight virtues in ISF is just a slogan or really adoptable on students' life?!
Anyways, I wish I won't regret for what I've made for my daughter.

Forget about those virtues, the principal mentions them all the time but I don't see they do any good to neither him nor his students. ISF is an above average school after all.

Olympic is not that far from ISF, only takes ~20 min if go direct via western tunnel. Generally no traffic!
