我囝囝2009年12月出世, 今年9月先讀K2, 想小學讀IS, 想問下ESF, KCIS同THINK, 邊間好D? 定係仲有其他更好選擇? 謝謝指教

If your child is born in 2009, seems the application for ESF should have been done in Sept 2003.

因為囝囝性格較活潑，求知慾強，常追問問題，也喜歡自己創作同落手落腳試，所以我估計IS會較適合他。而選這三間也是聽身邊朋友講，有些心儀的，學費實在太高，所以都想問下大家有沒有推介。當然我明白每間總有好同唔好，但也想聽多少少

Actually I asked ESF before, they said I can apply in sept 2014, coz they understand that some parents will let their child go for K1 one year late!!!
For KCIS, they just ask me to send them the application form

For my understanding, ESF will put on a child to the list according to the year the child born. If your child born in 2009, he/she should applied in sept 2013 for year 1 in school year 2014-2015. You can apply in sept 2014 & your child will be put on the waiting list of year 2 for the school year 2015-2016

Your child can apply a year late for year 1 this coming Sept. I have attended their school tour before, their starting date for "big b" is 1 Nov.

Which kindergarten are you referring to?
My son was born in November and ESF-TY never gave him that option!! (how i wish i can put him a year back]

Oh really? I asked before and they asked me to apply in sept 2014, they haven't said a admission date for "big B".BTW, really thanks for the information, just struggle which school!!! But I know all IS are difficult to enter nowadays!!!

My son is not studying under esf kindergarten. He born in oct 2009 and we have applied for esf year 1 in last sept. And we have attended the school tour of RC and this is what the admin manager said.

They didn't mention "big b" in the website. But when i attend the sch tour from RC, the admin manager said they will allow kids who born on or after 1 nov to try one year later. But is there any other condition under this case, sorry that i am not that sure. U are better send an email and ask about this.

If I remember it right, children born after 15th Nov can apply one year later. I did consider this option for my child when we apply for ESF, so he can spend another year at the kindy. However, I was worried about the competition my child might face if I delay for another year, hence he is a very young boy at ESF Y1 now.

I feel you gatochat! My son is in Reception (K2) being born Nov 2010, and at the time of application the key was getting into the school first. Now that they're in the system, however, you may talk to the teacher and consider putting the child back a year. I know it is not uncommon in our school and there's quite a few Dec born kids who stay a year at Reception. It's true the earlier the better in doing this, but i think Year 1 is fine. My husband repeated a year in kindergarten back in Australia. Of course he was sad for a short while, but then after being put back a year he excelled in school every year and never looked back :)
