The IGCSE result is posted on the school web. 61% got a* to a. The  result is as good as KGV, and be ...
For comparison, French International School has 75% getting A* or A.

Though not direct comparison, the 100th UK school according to best-schools league table has 71.69% getting A* or A in GCSE. The 1st school has 99.4%.

So 61% may not be really outstanding.

According to Cambridge International Examinations, gcse and igcse are equivalent on a subject-to-subject and grade-to-grade basis. Literally based on this statement from CIE, gcse and igcse should indeed be compared directly

Hope those are really sarcastic comments. If school hadn't endorse it in advance and obviously that kid was not planning to return the $10 profit to school, that was same as 炒黃牛票 which could be illegal. I can't figure out why quite a few parents here praise such behavior.

How is it illegal in this case?  Maybe you should study the relevant law in HK firs ...

I have no indepth or professional knowledge so I said "could be" instead of "is". I just wonder if the school management themselves endorse or encourage this kind of behavior - selling above the face value of the coupons and making profit behind the school. I myself will not allow my own kids to do this without prior approval of the school. But of course I can't speak for other parents who may like their kids to be money oriented.

I just form this very personal view based on observations from school debentures where some schools require the parents to split the profits with the school when the parents do sell the debentures. So I believe the schools may not desire profits being made behind their back.
