For those who are interested in the school, the best way to understand the school more is to feel it on the spot, talk to the teachers and students and see their works.

SIS Open House will be held on Saturday, 22 March 2014 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Secondary school campus at 2 Police School Road. Preparatory Years, Primary and Secondary students will be displaying their work and teachers will be on hand to discuss our through-train curriculum. To this end, student work, information and activities relating to subjects offered at the PYP section will be juxtaposed with that in corresponding subjects at the Secondary section.

School tours of both PYP and Secondary campuses will be conducted on the day. In addition, performances will take place in the 6/F Dance Studio, 7/F Auditorium and 8/F Science Garden to showcase our students’ talents in the performing arts.

Parents of students selected to perform or help out on the day will receive further communication shortly. Details of the timing of the performances and talks will also follow soon. Please note that parking in school will not be available on the day.

We very much look forward to seeing you at Open House.

Bringing your boy -

Pros
1. He can get more familiar with the school's environment. So, he likes the school more and more easily gets adapted when attending the interview in future.
2. You can introduce your boy to the teachers or even the principal.

Cons
1. You may be distracted and not focused enough when touring around and trying to understand each facet of the school.
2. You may not be able to attend the talks [very informative and useful] which give details of the curriculum / programmes of the school.

My advice is if your focus is to understand more deeply about the school, don't bring your boy. You can let him get familiar with the school in Christmas Fair / school tour arranged after submitting the application.
