We paid deposit for KCIS K1 8/2014 and just received invitation from SWCK for school visit of 8/2014 intake.
My husband preferred KCIS for better traditional Chinese teaching, guarantee place to F6 and sibling priority(we got an 1.5 year old son).

I treasured SWCK for Christian-based teaching, more students from different nationalities, it's environment and ? Priority to ICA.

We lived in Western district.

Any suggestions / preference are very much welcome!

讀緊R1, 即係K2我覺得KCIS都幾好
但上網睇
D人話SWCK CARING多點
但KCIS的中文真的在國際來講唔太差
睇你想要咩

你仲需要考慮你孩子小學會去國際定本地。
因為入左國際便無回頭

May i know how old is your child now? And how do you find the curriculum? When is reading, writing and comprehension/composition taught both for Chinese and English?

我女以家4.5歲
寫字方面要自己在家TRAIN下
因K1時係無寫字的
K2(R1)開始學校會寫少少
在家我都有比佢寫下中英文
但就一定無讀LOCAL小朋友寫咁多
不過, 我女最近寫中文好左好多
學校好似由K2(R1)下學期教寫中文
我女最近學左"春"呢個字

另我個人有俾我女出去學PHONICS
(學校都有教的)
但認英文單字仲係唔太好
但一本書咁睇
我講2次, 佢就差唔多可以讀返8-9成
我唔知佢係背定真係識.....

Thank you so much everyone! I got an elder daughter (who will have ICS and SWCK interview this Friday) and a younger son (now aged 1.5). Now my daughter is in KCS N1.

My husband feared a lot on IS curriculum though we both treasured Chinese culture and language. I hope the school for our children has a positive and good learning habitat with parents and teachers having similar mindset as us. We also hope her and our son can be a good person from within.

My daughter now can handle Cantonese, mandarin and English in simple manner. We treasured the teachers in KCS nursery very much (and previously Woodland) giving a non-spoiling yet supportive environment to them.

We are not rich enough to support both children to well off IS, and ESF hillside said we have a long waiting list to go. We can actually place her in local KG as she got a seat in some interviews before. I hope our choice of school to them would not limit / deviate the way they / God let them to go. Really worried and thank you so much again for all of you's information.

BTW, my girl enjoys Jolly Phonics very much and start learning to write simple Chinese characters at home. I don't know how much home education we can give but we are trying out best.
