If you have offers from Victoria, St Cat and ESF
Which one would you pick?

Victoria: primary and secondary school support, IB happy school

St Cat: "it's St Cat!" Excellent track record but have to go through P1 interview again

ESF: like Victoria but no Chinese

if you want traditional stream for Primary school : St Cat or Victoria.

if you want international stream : ESF or Victoria.

If you are not sure yet : Victoria

For traditional school, St cat.

For esf, whats the % from kg to primary? If ur child cant get into the ps, whats the backup plan?

You are very right
Victoria is the choice for targeting IB while seeking top tier local primary school
However
St Cat can cooperate with parents to train up the students and can also target Victoria primary school and other top top tier local / IB schools
My concern on ESF is no Chinese and won't have plan B if can't get into ESF primary school

TY principal said last year only 2 students on waiting list of the ESF primary school and she is working on them
Looks like it's 99% of the KG students can go to ESF primary school

Suggest you read through 國際學校 forum on EK.

More current parents of ESf there to help clarify , priorities if any for new ESF students.

I am of the impression that no more priorities for new students starting after 2014 (not entirely sure)

Also i have seen parents who firmly and faithfully relied on the "it's St Cat" ! And flunked big time on P1 exams.

Yes as St Cat required parents great contributions to train up the kids, so, the parents cannot "hea". Heard some cases teachers tell parents that their children cannot catch up the school and may have a risk, like consult them out and it's just K2.

If u know any st cat students and take a look at their homework, u will find they dont have the toughest cirriculum. In fact a couple yrs back, i heard some st cat mums (people i am acquainted) complain that it was too easy. I would say if parents dont provide anything extra for their kids, they might run the risk of having zero p1 offers.

Thats true and some r quite agressive and have high expectation. some r pretty easy going.

What sort of achievements do you.want your kid to.have by the end of K3?

From your previous responses, i believe you are.quite ready for traditional route and brew a star student. if you are prepared, St cat suits you.

My kid graduated from St cat n we are Hea parents , however , we never got any warning from school . When compared with other kg in kln tong , workload from st cat is modest

Strongly agree , many St cat parents did send their kids to tutorial classes but I don't think the school itself is tough to 谷the students when compared with other so called famous kg! Kids are still happy in school
