My son attended their screening this morning. There are more than 10 kids in each group (as observed at hall) and my boy said there are more ten boys and six girls in his group.

One hour screening, including the walking up and down time, is there enough time to screen kids and make it a fair game? My boy told me that the teachers did have one to one time and asked him comparing pictures and puzzle task, but no further chitchat. He also said the teacher is not asking any further question after group story time, and no question about his picture too.

My exp in other IS was and will be around five kids in a group. He used to be a very chatty boy, but it seemed that things are a bit rushy and he did not feel very relaxed in the classroom this morning.

Are your kid from an ESF kinder? As far as I know, the esf kids should have 2 times of screening, the first is school visit in the kinder itself, and the second time is a group interview in the primary

The first visit is just a get to know visit, not screening. Rc will make the visit if there are 12 or more applicants. My son is not from ESF kindy.

according to your observation... I think the "get to know" first visit is already a screening.

I would rather believe not a screening. And the school also stressed that this arrangement is not screening. It would be unfair for schools with less than 12 applicants.

As far as I know, teachers did take notes during school visits...it just depends if you perceive this as screening or visit

After talking to a few parents whose kids also attended the screening, I hope that my son has not told me the whole picture. He has done his best. Good luck to him! Thanks for all BK parents who showed support!
