香港讀 DSE 好, 還是英國讀 A LEVEL 好呢?
我個女讀緊 F.5, 正考慮考埋個 DSE, 定係去英國讀 F.6?
可以斜啲意見嗎?

我個人覺得要綜合幾方面因素去衡量:
1. 你小朋友現時的成績, 入到香港D大學有幾成? 14年估計DSE既要求會仲高, 學位又無多過, 所以升返香港D大學都幾難. 如果係成績都晤錯就繼續讀完個dse, 否則就早d PLAN下後路.
2. 睇下小朋友想讀的科目係咩啦. 晤係所有人都適合讀A-LEVEL, 也不是所有科目都要求讀A-level先可以上到果科. 除非係讀醫科類, 甘讀a-level都有作用. 其他一些普通專業其實有好多FOUNDATION 或者 DIPLOMA 可以銜接到高排名的大學. 時間金錢上又可以節省一筆.

If money is not a concern, I tend to think that A-Level may be a better option for the following reasons:

(1) Considering the number of A and A* of each A-Level subject award (ranging from 15% to 30% or even more), it is relatively easy to obtain a very good result in A-Level (even if you are not so bright). The percent of 5 in each DSE subject is about 10% which is further divided into [7/10 being 5, 2/10 being 5* and 1/10 being 5**). The net result of 5* and 5** is about 3% in each DSE subjects..

(2) The chance of getting into Oxbridge or Ivies is much better than DSE. Each year, Oxford and Cambridge admit about 60 students originated from Hong Kong. However, I guess that less 10 admitted students are admitted on the strength of their DSE results.

In fact, all U in UK, Scotland and Ireland are funded by UK Government. It may be one private U only.

Of course, according to ranking, there is a different, but there is no we call 雞校, like other countries.

If you just need a degree, a low ranking U might be easier but the graduate still have the standard.
