My son has just got an offer from Brighton. Any existing parents can give me some comments on the school ?

Year 9 for the coming Sept. Some said that there will be study pressure and some said that the pastoral care is quite good. Just want to know more !

your son must be very smart! I feel this is a a very aggressive ans upcoming school. I guess it's academically challenging but would suit parents and kids with competitive minds and academic ambition

Thx for all the information given. Any further information and sharings from existing parents of the school ? By the way, how would you compare Brighton with Oundle ?

brighton is one of the up and coming school, by trying to give outstanding results. therefore the current environment will be very focus on studying
if you want the best academic results, sending your son there would be a good choice
if you want to send him to all-rounded school (particularly for those going in year 9) i might be looking at others, such as Abingdon

I heard Abingdon is even more academic drill than Brighton. Another note is that Abingdon has smaller boarding population and a considerable portion of boarders are Asians.

I think academic results are quite important. My boy can choose to stay in Uk, go to US or even come back to HK if his A-level results are good in the future. Two of my concerns are whether Brighton will have suitable amount of ECAs for the students to choose and whether the teachers are caring or not. In the schools of Hong Kong, the senior levels are far too much exam-oriented. Teachers and students are under much pressure.
