I received the rejected letter from LH, St. Cat and Victoria. I feel very depress, as i think my girl did very well in the Interview, even i answered the questions very well. I know they are all competitive, but i already tried to enroll PN last year, and N this year, put my girl in the interview class, trained her polite and good manner every time we are outing. Why there is no offer for my girl? We really work hard but end up no school accept her, i feel very sad for my girl and very doubt about how they set the guidline to accept the student.

My girl answered 98% questions correct, said good mornig and bye to the tearcher, showed her smiling face but still failed. is it because that both of the parents are not from the Band 1 schools and we are not doctor or lawyer.

I cannot sleep in these few nights, and wake up early to submit an admission request to the principal, and the receptionist showed me

unlike face. maybe it's too much ppl send them letters.

anyone can tell me why our children and parents need to face this kind of world.

You are not alone.some of my friends whose girls are smart also got no offers from the above schools. There are a lot of schools out there, don't give up.

You got the following wrong spelling

guidline
tearcher
mornig

so you should be careful when you submit the admission request esp. if you write in english

Dont feel so stress ~ we never know whats the selection criteria. As i can see , you are trying your best and so does your daughter! Losing a place in kinder but gaining a good manner child, i think its already the best reward for parents.
The kinders you mentioned are very competitive indeed, maybe we are saying choosing 1 from 20. Your daughter maybe top of the wait list. She will definitely shine if she keep up the good work in the future. Dont put the blame on the 'background' stuff..as it is something out of our control.

Thanks sisters, i asked a NET to help me to double check my request letter, so it shoudn't has any typing or grammar mistake. But i still feel sorry for my girl who tried her best and got no offer

LN & Victoria 本身有N 班，其實好小位放出來收外生, 所以fail 機會好大，而st cat ,實左好多人報，競爭好大，真係好叻既小朋友先至成功，加上學校收生標準，我地係唔會知，放鬆d，繼續努力

I understand your feeling and I agree it is so stressful for parents to fight for a place for good kindergarten. All your choices are very famous kindergartens with keen competition and it is advised you should choose some different class kindergartens.

My girl is Aug B, and we are lucky to have LH, Victoria and CPSKG. We just have interviews in 4 schools, and KV waiting.

My girl didn't enrol any playgroup or interview class, I didn't give her any pressure or offical training. But be frank, these kindergartens they need to get good primary allocation result to ensure their branding and therefore they tend to choose family with good background.

My husband is professional and I am full time mom, and we are highly educated. this may be some consdieration of some schools but I must say not all schools focus on this. KV we only get waiting list, as my girl is Aug and I think the school has some consideration as they start writing in K1 (which my girl is just 3 at that time)

I did something additionally after the interviews, I prepared letters (not template, I wrote every letter right after the interviews with Principals and teachers, they are lengthy but I guess the principal can see our sincerity, that's why we won good offers) The letters all come with a development kit of my girl, which shows many photos how I teach her at home, and show our strong family bonding. It gives much more information to the school what family we are

其實外面還有大把辦得出色的學校、家長要平常心處理、過幾年還有升小的才算一大考驗

There r still many good KG
St Cat, LH, Vic are good for startup
But this doesn't guarantee good primary, secondary and university

我初時也以為這些有名氣的學校也未必收我們這些N無人士，抱著姑且一試的心態去面試，但其實學校也是會考慮多方面的因素去選擇學生，我認為St Cat 傾向選擇家長零參與而自行完成所有tasks的考生，因聽聞家長在面試過程中稍有提示即fail,而根德園除了傾向收大B，還要求家長合格才會取錄（我相信自己當天的表現不合格，所以女兒不獲取錄。）

請不要灰心，路還漫長，你的小朋友能在各方面都有進步，你的付出不會是白費的！除上述已報之名幼，還有其他未出結果的嗎？

very appreciate all sisters' support and my girl tried to interview 10 KG last year and all failed, so that i was on purpose to train my girl for another year, this year she is the super big B as she was born Dec 2010, however, no matter how much effort we did ,all the kg are in waitin list, even KV as well. That's why i am so upset, i knew why i failed last year as i didn't prepare, however with 1 year training, i am

阿仔而家KV K1 PM, 其實班裏大中細B分佈非常平均！全班26人，而七，八及九月B共佔十個！九月尾細B有三個！我睇過上午班同學生日月份表（貼在壁佈版上）亦係大中細B分佈非常平均！所以絶非外界所傳偏愛收大B! 中B及偏細B亦不少！九月B絶對有機，但十月B我暫時未見過

From what you described, I believe your daughter is the demure, quiet, obedient and submissive type玉女。

If so St Cat definitely not your cup of tea. They look fir active, energetic and dominant type personality.

Victoria likes happy.bubbly children

not sure about LH though.

I believe you stand a better chance with St Paul's kindergarten or Sacred Heart or St stephen's girls.

But i didn't apply the kg you mentioned, even KV is also in waiting list, now i'm waiting the last chance of Munsang, but she didn't answer all the questions correct too, so i don't expect any offer

Claire007,

Stay positive. LH, SC and Victoria all have PN classes, therefore the seats in K1 for open application are very limited. From my experience, many kids do well in the interview but can't get an offer. However, many parents are using their network and get a seat. This is not a secret.

Afterall, though you may not be able to get into these schools, your effort is still worthwhile as your kid surely has benefitted from your training. This is most important.

Stress is another significant factor. From the fact that you enrolled your girl in interview class, you must have high hope for this 'battle'. However, some children don't perform well under stress. Relax!
Learning failure early is better than learning late, cos you can learn from it and perform well in the future. Kinder application is only the beginning of the lifelong battles.

以你朋友這個案，她的女兒是：
1）Dec 2010 出生？
2）你說她13年已讀K1，但StCat又收左14年K1，那麼她將是重讀K1？
3）如果以上1）是對，她去年應該不符合報Stcat 13年的K1？

不好意思，問題太多，因為搞不明白為何好多人話雖然做細女但係之後又點變成大女報學校。謝謝指導。

i thought she will fail as she didn't answer teacher's question when she asked what is the R and I. my girl just pick up other letters and ignore the teacher. the teacher looks not interested of my girl. But i guessed the first part that the kids are waiting and playing toys, the teacher did mark sth. on the paper. my girl played the toys by her own and share it with the neighbour girl, so i think she won the place from that. The last and the best, so i was crying and cannot sleep in these two nights as i was too happy
