Has anyone received any letter or email inviting your child for an interview? Seems TY and Abacus has already been sending out interview letters/email but not WKS yet...?

I received the letter yesterday from TY, saying no place offer to me due to large amt of applications. But still inviting me to the play session in Jan. I wonder how is the letter wrote for all of yours invitation to the play session. Is it the same?

So they are not giving your child a place but is offering a play session..... Does that mean they are interested in your child and if someone gives up their sport then your hold will be able to get a place in the school?

Unlike local kinder, ESF doesn't use the term "interview". They use informal play visit. The purpose of the visit is to see if yr kid can fit in the school culture, and if yr son likes the school or not

I have a son in ESF primary but not from ESF Kindergarten. I am not sure if my daughter has 'kind of' priority.

Your daughter enjoys sibling priority, that is why she is invited to a play visit in December while most will have theirs in January.

Yes, it is what the letter wrote. A place will be offered when it is available.

My son attended the play visit at Hillside last Friday, and got the notification of acceptance from them by this Monday. During the play visit, they've told the parents if they have any questions about the kids, they would contact the parents and arrange another visit again, otherwise, we'll receive the offer after the X'mas holiday.

Wish you all good luck! If you received the invitation, the chance of securing a place is relatively high.
Frankly speaking, esf wks exceeds my expectation, and we can see the principle as well as all teachers are very hard working.
At the very beginning, based on what I learnt from the comments on this forum, I thought the children were just playing very freely each day at an ESF kinder, but actually, all the programs and activities are very well organised and adult-led. My kid feels excited and happy to go to shchool every day.

Yes the normal session of the morning class begins at 8:30. If the children should take school bus, it is hard to get up and especially in winter

The WKS's annual report shows that this year nearly 90% of K2 children gained and accepted places at an ESF Primary School, while the others move onto anfiled or other IS schools.

It is really an encouraging fact for our current WKS parents, and the school has exceeded my expectation and we can see the efforts done by principle and teachers. The campus has just renovated during this Christmas holiday to become more attractive to the children who always like to explore. The activities in school are well organized and adult-led, with good teaching materials.
I started teaching my kid Chinese characters only several months ago, but has already begun to read her stories in Chi when she was 1.

So we just had our 'school visit' with WKS. We were greeted by the programme coordinator and then she went through the power point on their curriculum, then we walked around school and into the classrooms, got to see how the teachers and educational assistant interact with students. Then she briefly explained what the 'play visit' will be like. Then Q and A. That's was all. Took about an hour or so.

Yesyes I manage to ask my husband to go for play visit together. But its a bit hard for him to take leave again for school tour.

Our parent meeting is called school tour. The principal took parents around the campus and gave us information about school missions and learning environment. We had opportunity to ask questions during this time too. It was not a parent interview. However, during Play Visit(with our child), the teachers came to chat with the children and parents too. It was very informal so don't be worried. Good Luck!
