We have received a letter from DC informing us they could not offer an interview for our child in the initial round being held in January 2014.

They mentioned that there are 89 out of 120 seats will be allocated for general applications, whilst the remaining 31 seats will be allocated for Corporate and Individual Nomination Rights.

Very disappointed that we do not have a chance for interview.

Discovery College. I also got an e-mail from DC, no interview will be offered at this moment... too bad but will keep on waiting list.

No need to worry this soon. Many see DC as back up. As to NR, last year they only sold 9, of which only 5 took the offer, and the rest decline and forfeit deposits . This year the sale could be worse given the school announced absurd fee increases in future years. Many seats will be released later. Be hopeful.

𣎴要輕信傳媒，有D鐘意作新聞，或知少少作埋其他，DC是中學收生嚴重不足，所以連年赤字，小學仍好爆

Most students in Discovery College are residents of Discovery Bay (I was told around 80%), many of them leave Hongkong when they reach secondary school age.

It is not because of 收生不足. It is because the school is still new (opened in 2008) and the senior secondary places have not started to operate in the first few years. This year is the first year they have Year 13 sitting for IB Diploma exam in 2014. The school will be in full capacity in next few years.

It is indeed because of 收生不足 even taken into account of this factor, as against budget, in fact seriously below target (and worsened by opening of harrow) as explained in the parents' meeting by the school in its explanation of the projected ridiculous increase in fees. That's why they will open additional classes for primary section to make up the shortfall.

The school's finance is so poor, if you forge out $400k, you surely will have a place. But then the projected school fees are way higher than RC, let alone ESF.

No we're not from ESF kinder, we're actually from a local kindergarten! :)

That's cool. Mind telling us if the Kg is one of those famous "good" schools like St xx? I am still waiting for a kg place for my girl and did not apply for ESF since the vigorous competition and am very concerned about the chance to QBS, which we like a lot.
