Just want share with you how grateful I am with the school. It has the best facilities amongst all International Schools in HK. Teachers are very caring and the reading program is awesome. My kid now is in Grade 4 and I see her blossomed since Reception. She is intelligent , very out-spoken, love reading and learning and just love her life. I can't say all, but it is because she was growing up in such a nurturing environment. People say their academic standard is low. But I honestly don't think so. Her reading and writing level is Grade 6-7 already and Chinese is strong because she is in the strong class. Math is probably just normal. But she developed into a very well rounded young girl. Share with you because we all only want the best for our children and I feel very lucky that she grew up in this school and you might be as well.

Did your daughter start from Reception or joined laterally? You were still looking to try debentures last year?
She joined in Prep year( K3 in local system). We are Canadians but a lot of my friends with the passports still can't get in!!! From my experience, the interviews determine everything. I also want to buy the debenture, but CDNIS is very good, they don't let people use the debentures to get into the school. Parents can buy it once their children is accepted.
For facilities, I know it's the BEST because I have been to all the good ones. ( well, only HK island though. I haven't been to schools on Kowloon side).
Also for extra curricular activities, we have 300 to choose from! Also, kids have to swim at the school 's swimming class to promote healthy lifestyle. We have our own indoor heated pool.
The only bad thing is the parking. There is no public parking!
For after school, I let her go to Enopi once a week And a Chinese class once a week. Hope it helps :)

It's good to hear about the good Chinese training at CDNIS. I hope all IS will follow this direction and the future IS graduates will not be seen as poor in Chinese.

My son joined CDNIS in Reception and loved the school since. I must agree that CDNIS has THE best facilities. Then again, it all came from the school fees/capital levy.

Does this school only accept Canadian passport holder?

It has been mentioned several times here that CDNiS has the best facilities. What does that really mean? Is it the size? The auditorium? The pool?

Have not been on a tour but have visited the campus several times and walked around. It is a very nice campus indeed! But want to know what I am missing that would make it best?
For example: The library is bigger than most of the kindergarten campus in Hong Kong.

I think facilities there mean both hardware and software. You can see the hardware but you have to feel the software.
If you do not have kids or do not know kids studying there, it would be hard to imagine and comment the software.

Spent some time attend the school tour, feel the atmosphere and not only see the facilities but do see the student, you'll see they are happy and very self-discipline

Your daughter got in year 2000? (i suppose in around Reception age) So she is almost graduating now?(if not already) Did she stay in CDNIS the entire time? I am guessing she turns out well? How is her Chinese and where is she heading next? Would love to hear more about how CDNIS operates as my boy is starting Reception this year (also no connection but i'm a Canadian). Really excited and nervous. Feel free to PM me ;)

IB chinese lang A,
GRADE 11 只有4人選LANG A CHINESE
Mock

There is usually high academic pressure in the IBDP years, no matter which school, unless the student and the parents are satisfied with the academic result of the child under no pressure learning, and are satisfied with the expected university that the child can get in with this expected academic result.
The academic pressure is usually higher in top schools, because most of the pressure comes from peers. Students don't want to get grades lower than their peers, they don't want to get into a less prestigious university than their peers.
IS students seem less accustomed to the exam oriented learning approach, and the associated pressure from the 1st pubic exam or internal mock exam that will determine their future. LS students have long been adapted to exam pressure from day 1.
