Pick some countries who allow student to work.

From my knowledge, parents pay for the fees and partial living expense, students may work one or two evening at the weekend and long holidays (normal 4 weeks Christmas, 4 weeks Easters (of course, need to prepare for May/June exams over Easter) and three months summer holidays. Even, general families and students can make it.

In facts, working experience with other local people or students learn more, rather than spending time with Chinese.

In facts, most of the countries e.g. UK & US also allow students to work for some hours a week. My old days, I worked for 'University' restaurant/cafe about six to seven hours on one evening, good enough to pay my weekly rent. Mind you, old days, don't know about now. It is more than money.

Also, I made friends with the restaurant manager and other restaurant/kitchen staffs. Stay tune with the local people not alway Chinese.

In fact, some of my friends were jealous of me having jobs with them. They had to make friends with them through me, too.

I heard that German Us are free but have to be proficient in German as the medium of instruction is German.

已改變了, 現在德國所有大學都要收學費, 但唔貴, 每年約一千歐元( 約一萬港幣) , 也不需要一定識德文,國際學生可選擇文課程,但去到一定要學德文, 現在生活費每月大約5-600歐

德國...真係諗得過呀~

用英語上堂的國家，應該無平及免費。但可以試試歐洲的國家留學，例如：法國、德國、意大利…本人多年前去法國讀美術，一年都只是千多港元留位費。今年小兒去了意大利讀音樂，一千歐元留位費，免學費的，但要識當地語言。

國內大學咪平囉.約5000蚊一年學費.宿舍費千多元.若家境唔好係香港可申請減學費.

意大利D音樂學院已經開晒學,所以應該等到明年再嘗試。事源今年三月中,有個歐洲教育展在中央圖書館舉行,我地一家人去看看,本來打算問法國同德國的音樂學院(小兒已經讀了年半的法文)。德國的音樂學院多數屬於大學的科目,所以要DSE有唔錯的成績先可以考慮。法國同意大利的音樂學院是獨立的,不受DSE成績影響,但要考入學試的,要求好高,法國里昂國立音樂學院,每年大約一百個考小提琴試,最後只會收八至九位考生。
行過見到有意大利音樂學院的展台,交談間知道是政府的,三年制的音樂學位,註冊費都只是一千歐元,免學費的,但要支持每個月五百多歐元的生活費。
小兒已經有小提琴演奏級証書,最重要係註場的意大利音樂老師要求下,小兒即場拉了一段小提琴,他好欣賞小兒的演奏,立刻話小兒可以直接入讀無需要經過考入學試。(因為無直接批準的話,就要親身去意大利領事館辦考試visa,去當地同其他考生考入學試,成功的話,可以留下讀書,失敗就要回港。)
十月中已經開學,最好裝備先,學定意大利文,因為比英文難!

讀書除了學知識，更是一種投資。學費與投資回本期切切相關。既然小孩都升大學了，等他們自己找大學資料，這是一個學習過程。
