小女現讀K3, 想轉報這間插班Y1. This one in hung hom is closest to our home but quite new. 請問這校口碑如何？及要否排很久才有位？？

You should apply last year, ESF year 1=local kinder K3They are very strict on the year of application, no such things like "big b small b"

You should apply for grade 2 now. Wait list? Super long

因原校址重建，所以借用紅磡做臨時校舍兩年，今年8月已搬回何文田新校舍。waiting list 有幾長，我諗冇人會答到你，年年都過千人申請，得150個位，仲要扣起sibling , staff嘅仔女，實則收幾多人呢？好多入咗表，連interview都冇。

提名權只係比你優先和實有interview 機會，未到學校standard , 一樣唔收，唔好以為比錢就實得。舊年第一年有提名權，都有小朋友過唔到。插year 1, 我諗真係超難，有位都比咗waiting list 嗰班啦。今年過晒入表申請時間，你試下打電話/email 問下。試下無壞。

I am not sure how long the wait list is for each school
But i heard from ESF talk that there were 2XXX applications for grade 1 Last year and they hv total 1000 grade 1 places

Averagely 2-3 kids fight for 1 place

咁又唔好話打尖, 比錢買提名權而得到優先 interview 機會, 係"合法" 的遊戲規則

If you are willing to pay the nomination fee, you can choose the campus that you want, seems they have 3 priority for you! But KJS is super difficult to get in if you are Chinese.

And no matter you pay or not, you should apply Y2 this year, you just download a form and send to their office( Quarry bay).

Ok. Got it. THanks everyone for your valuable advice! Seems like really difficult if don't sacrifice the $500,000. That's quite alot. But better chance for our kids..Difficult decision for middle class family like us...

I still remember 2 years ago, my kid in ESF kinder, there was few classmates apply KJS, but finally only one Chinese can get in, but I think her first language is Mandarin!!

Maybe there are many India, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese and mainlander live in western kowloon, especially in Sorrento, Whampoa garden and Tsim Sha Tsui, so the waiting list, even for non-chineses is very long.

My kid in SJS now, I know why all ESF school is quite difficult to get in once I entered this school!! They have so many siblings. I try to count how many siblings in my kid's class in Y1, 14 of of 30 kids are siblings!!! As we know, siblings have higher priority and normally their language are no problem.
So many people think SJS is more local Hong Kong students, now I know, many of them are actually Taiwanese, Chinese(1st language in Mandarin), Singaporean, Malaysian.....and if local Hong Kong people, most of them are holding foreign passport, so if pure HK without foreign passport, actually not much!!!

英基欠財，提名權又賣唔哂，肯比半球一定收，唔好信D人話有好多人買咗都唔收. 而RC同DC買咗慨全收（但據說只有一半多D take up)

My friend sent application form to ESF office this year applied the nomination right, I know she haven't got any info that she will have interview chapance... But I know there was a new foreigner in our grade without pay any NR ...
