NZ 和 Canada 學制不同,如以升大學為終結目標,加拿大較多科系選擇

二選一,加拿大。

如果是真的,一定有很多家長送孩子回中國讀書,至少學費和生活費都差一大截!

Hi Ruby1219,

Do you mean using the A Level results to apply for Us in Germany?

What would be the language requirement then, GCSE / A Level German grade?

Thanks,

actually I don't know, heard that there's a 語文試 to pass as a passport for studying or working in German

So, if the kid starts taking German as the modern language in Year 7 and continue as the selective subject for GCSE, would that be enough?  A or B in GCSE is usually like B2 equivalent?

Many thanks,

sorry I really don't know. my son studies at German Swiss since year 3 and has been in the advance class since year 7. He is now in year 9 and probably will take iGCSE in 2014. His German teacher told me that he stands a good chance to get that "passport" for studying/working in Germany if he stays in GSIS and keep progressing his German skill. The school would help them sit the German "語文試", so I guess purely using the iGCSE result won't be enough

Thanks sancheng138!
My friend who studied in France for university also shares similar view as you, that graduates from Germany might be 'restricted' to work for German company. I have different view for my son as
1) he command native English already (as he studies in international school since kindy), so his English would be still good enough even he studies for 3-4 years in German university
2) i always tell my son to choose university and subject according to his interest first, more than the career prospect. While, my son is very interested in Math, Physics and Engineering. And I think Germany is very strong in Science and Engineering subjects, therefore seems it would be a good choice for him
3) since i plan to send him to UK for high school, it might be ideal (maybe greedy) that he can have the exposure to both UK and Germany during his secondary and tertiary eductaions. This might also give him a competitive advantage versus other overseas students.
4) not sure if he would like to take post-graduate degree. Otherwise, your suggestion is very good!
