如題,我只是想知它的程度是否等同以前的會考?還是等同以前的A- Level?
主要是有助外國升學,是嗎?

IGCSE:  International General Certificate of Secondary Education
IGCSE : Trademark of the Cambridge University
IGCSE standard : O Level, HKCEE
香港考試局有 Cambridge 的 IGCSE 和 Edexcel 的 International GCSE 考.
兩個 boards 的 syllabus 有些不同但水平差不多, 但好像香港學校多數揀 Cambridge.

當你攞D IGCSE past papers睇吓有幾淺，你就唔會覺得等同會考。我孩子學校中三中四考的。

HKDSE (F.6) 所考的水平, 在英國視為相約於GCE AL (F.7 Level). 可讀英國大學.

HKDSE 實質水平應該跟 GCE AS差不多, syllabus應該係IGCSE+GCE AS level, 較 GCE AL 淺. GCE AL 的 syllabus 跟 HKAL 差不多, 但 HKAL 難過 GCE AL 好多.

教師專心教好書，學生專心讀好書，入大學不是遙不可及！

如果不用宣傳幾多個A* A，無謂搞咁多嘢！如果一早預咗到英國讀 AL 另計。

IGCSE can be used for early admission in local U in the past. I think it is not really useful now.

Stop 2 years ago.
A friends son from GSIS. 11 A*, still can't get in MBBS, still need to complete the high school with GCE AL result.

CU Med seemed to have admitted some S6 students with GCE results in 2012.

12年港大到最尾，都沒幾個英國中六學生。

考IGCSE的成績，真的跟入大學沒直接關係。除非取8A*以上，有得優先被oxford interview.其他夾雜A*,A &B等，好好睇睇就是了。

覺得IGCSE的最大價值就是修讀10至13科，雖然內容淺，但樣樣也有機會學習，上至sport, music,下至三四種語言。在沒有強勁艱深的壓力下，十四至十六歳，更能從多方向學習下，找到理想和興趣，以至職業路向。

相比DSE要早早分科，選擇少，文科人去左學理科，理科人入錯了文科，非常遺憾。

很讚同你的意見. 小孩可以多兩年時間来看清自己的興趣, 才決定預科選修哪些科目.

英國報大學時是會問你gcse的成績,所以我認為有這個試做為中途bench mark有用.上studentchartroom.com 或找Cambridge stalking 2014 可見別人怎樣填補資料，(雖然這是自己填的可做假)，但看多幾間大學可見沒有gcse而只等終極成績冇著數.

在EK好得意，不少人捧 IGCSE，但未必瞭解真正功用，而且誤會以為以這學歷可以入大學。Annie 的評論最中肯！

我又聽到學校以因為考 IGCSE，所以減少時間應付其他公開試，因此成績差咗，又是錯誤看法。唔考IGCSE咪得囉！

I have recently researched some good sixth-form colleges in the UK.  Most of them require 5 or 6 A* in GCSE as a basic requirement.

因為 igcse 課程好淺，esf  係 year 11  就考，然後要讀兩年 ibdp 。

我一直沒有考慮IGCSE，但有考慮過 GCE AL，跟不同人討論完，反而集中，IBDP 的考試，及做好 PG 作考大學之用。如果對 lBDP 缺乏信心，或者打算出去英國升中學，我反而贊成走 IGCSE 加 GCEAL 的路，無謂勉強。

同意, 其實SPCS俾學生選擇讀DSE或者GCEAL, 我本來準備讓少女考GCEAL, 同時報NON-JUPAS和Overseas, 不過校方話嚟緊會轉考IAL, 想請教其實GCEAL和IAL有甚麼分別?

謝謝。簡單説即是英國以外地方考IAL，同埋GCEAL某些科目會計coursework分。兩者嘅成績評級相等。

我囡係今年首次報考IAL (去年已經考咗GCEAL 既AS quality)，佢以IAL predicated grade今年報UK UCAS同HK non-jupas都有con offer，看來GCEAL同IAL認受性似乎一樣！

你至少需要考慮三類問題：

答: 精英班, 成績不錯, 但又未到三甲, 適應能力尚可

你囡會選的主要是文科還是理科？如果係偏數理，以現是身邊所見(不知幾年後是否一樣)，應該HK IAL 或UK GCEAL都比DSE容易好多去取得比較好既大學/學科入場券(無論UK 定 HK) ！
至於比較HK IAL 定UK AL，考UK大學應該local UK 中學好d，但分別也不是太明顯，而早出去留學兩年，父母所要考慮既其他因素有好多，亦要顧及女兒意願！
