I've checked with Anfield and cfm they will
consider the baby's performance during this play session. Thus, treat it as one of the selection criteria!! However, they claimed that's not a formal interview but more like a mini playgroup.

Kingston and ycis also have the first come first served policy but it's not as easy to get into k1 directly as in the anfield case

Anfield does not select students at all, at least before this year. thats why it does admit some kids with special needs. Kingston and YCIS screen their applicants through interviews. Anfield starts to do similar screening thus year. I appreciate Anfield's non-selected approach. however kids with special needs require much more resources which a mainstream kindergarten may not be able to afford. ESF has special streams that require parents to pay more which is sensible.

I got the letter as well! They said play session is something like playgroup! (Actually is an interview)!!
However, u can change the date whenever u like!! We change the date too cox we are not able to attend on the selected date!!

這個問題很難答，近20後的世界都不知什麼世界。上次返港大好像返了大陸一樣，全是普通話內地生。20後可能一國兩制已不存在。現在IS可以用non JAUPAS 入大學, 20年後可能香港出世的本地生都很難入大學，國內出生優先入學。現在讀得IS or LS的學生，可能要預$出國讀大學！

For more information, the play session was quite informal, just like a toddlerobics, and can attend by parent/s and even grandparent, as long as they can speak English.

I was there yesterday. Both parents are allowed to go to the play session but only 1 parent is allowed to accompany the child in the room during the play session, there will be a teacher showing the other parent around the school.

My baby went to that play session. But she seems not very comfortable with the noisy environment, thus, her mood becomes very bad. Doesn't want to play or answer question. At the end, she even cried! Is it means that she will have high chance to be rejected?

My boy didn't have good performance too, he was far too happy there, running everywhere, not pay attention to singing class, a little hyper all the time!! So no worry too much, since we have already had interview and nothing we can do now, let's wait and see.

I went to Whampoa campus. Only 4 children per group as 2 no show. It was noisy as they are still running normal class at the campus. A lot of kids running and the music is quite noisy too. My baby was not feeling comfortable under such environment. Sigh.. I even helped her to enroll the playgroup at anfield to increase her chance....
I wonder of they will still accept her given her poor performance today.
Indeed, I still cannot understand why they arranged such type of interview. I remember they told me no interview will be needed for their nursery class as they believe nothing can be tested on a 1 year old kid!!

Really?? May I know your source? As I called their admin staff before and they told me baby's performance during the play session will be one of their selection consideration... Besides, I saw one of the teachers seems has a form to evaluate each baby's performance. If they only require to check if there are any baby has special needs, dun think they will need such details evaluation. Sigh... I really hope they are not interviewing the baby.

I asked the principal (KLT campus) why they have decided to inplement the play session this year, whether it is a selection process or not. She told me it is not for selecting students, but just an opportunity for the parents to meet a few teachers, ask questions, see the facility so the parents can understand what Anfield stands for.
But The teachers did have clipboards where they took notes during the play session.
I guess I'll know if what she said is true when they send me the follow up letter!

And if their purpose is to screen out those kids has special needs, why will also asked the kids who's already studying their playgroup program to join this play session? One of my groups baby is currently their playgroup student... Sigh... Seems it's quite confusing for their arrangement.

Nope... I heard the teacher told one of the babies in my group ' see u tmw!' From my observation, 2 of the babies in my group actually is the existing students of that campus as some reception staffs and teachers know them!

I think it is because the birth rate is increasing these years. Anfield receives more applicants than the places they can offer. some selection priorities are set out as a result.
