Basically all schools offer some form of Chinese lessons.  I think it is more a matter of how good would you like the Chinese to be.  Maybe you should ask yourself how important is Chinese to your family and what level of fluency would you like to target?

Victoria Shanghai Academy does. But level quite high, compare to ISF, ESF, SIS.

Int'l Christian School DOES? I'm happy to hear about that.
It is one of our target school but i thought ICS doesn't teach Chinese that well, compared with CIS, SIS, CDNIS, ISF, YCIS etc.

Would you care to share more? What is their cirriculum like and the level of Chinese taught etc. thx!

------

Ten minutes later:

I checked their website (thx to I Love T3 above): 35-40 minutes, 6 classes per cycle (within a 6 day-cycle, equivalent to approx 35-40 minutes a day)... Is that about the same as other IS listed above?

If you really care about the level of Chinese at a school, I think you will have to consider more than just the instruction time.  If I were you, I would also ask about the curriculum (text book/materials used, level vs LS), support of Chinese book reading, the use of Chinese outside of Chinese classes, playground language, ….  Curriculum is most important but you also have to consider whether the kids "enjoy" using the language.  Chinese is much tougher to learn and if the kids see it as a "second class" language, then it will always be an afterthought.

Just on instruction time, CIS is 50% Chinese and ISF is 70% Chinese so it will be quite a bit more than 60 mins a day.  I am not sure about the other schools.

If Chinese really is of vital importance to you, you probably shouldn't be looking at international schools!

Or you can always tutor outside of school.

有個笑話,話說幾年前有個普通話native 小孩在本地學校上普通話堂,他每次中文讀默只得七十幾分,因為他聽吾明老師說普通話😔

I think if Chinese is of vital importance, they really shouldn't be in HK!

Does anyone know that if Chinese classes in ISF and CDNIS are conducted in Cantonese or in Mandarin?

CDNIS has Chinese class everyday in Traditional Mandarin. By year 3, they will separate native and non native streams, native level is very hard. We have writing exercises daily, dictation weekly, big tests every month. I am very happy with the standard for international school.

No worries, I find the information I am looking for.  The school does such a good job in disclosing its IB results!

Why bother Chi A? There was discussion before. The best combination for IS is Eng A and Chi B.

Sorry I mean a sensible way. It's in the discussion on this year's IB results. Some schools take both Chi and Eng A, many take Eng A and Chi B, and a few take Chi A and Eng B.  Of course if you have the time and energy and target US universities or study in a local school, Chi A is good. It's natural for local school students to take Chi A, but not necessary for an international school like CDNIS.

I really think these decisions depend on the child's interest and ability.  No need to worry too much!

Sorry, has been busy and did not get to log on to see your questions.  Chinese at ICS was a bit easy at beginning but when my one got to Grade 1, there are more details and homework but her level of Chi is improve dramatically.  I can't compare the difference in between schools as I have no idea what the others are like.  But we are treating it as second language, as long as she can speak in Cantonese and recognize Chi characters (simply), I think it is good enough.
