CTY提供的課程與史丹福大學那個有何不同？有請前輩指點。

我小朋友以前報讀了G3 Math, 比了錢後才知道login Stanford EGPY website.
但是最後個Test就不知道和EPGY是否一樣.

EPGY即offered by Stanford, CTY is offered by John Hopkins.
仔仔讀的是online course, right?效果如何？
我仔升year 5, 對用電腦學習已有較大掌握，所以我想讓他試試。

是呀. 我小朋友讀G3 and G4. 真分之好玩和有用. 但不會和香港嘅課程一樣. 好似G3第一課已教set. 還有會有一個tutor assigned 给我小朋友. 是可以問問題. 但我小朋友太细了,從來沒有好好利用tutor.

但小心近視加深!

有沒有讓你的兒子參加 John Hopkins 的 summer course? 我亞仔上年也有參加 talent search. 英文及數学已達標, 考慮讓他參加明年美國的 summer programe. 另外你兒子也可以参加今年秋季的世界數學測試, 考考實力.

我小兒十一歲。我覺得 online course 太晚才有得上，會影響他正常課程，所以才慮 summer programme。BTY John Hopkins 考的英文題目真的有點深，起初想小兒也未必能過關。

You can assess to the online course material whenever you want except if you want to book an appointment with the tutor.

剛上網check course outline，原來CTY的accelerated grade 4 maths也是用EPGY的材料，不過就有自己的tutor。

"The Grade 1 - 4 Accelerated Math Series offered through CTYOnline draws on software developed by Stanford University's Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY). CTYOnline provides its own instructors for the EPGY Math Series."

真有趣!

我想問以grade 4 maths為例，3個月時間足夠嗎? 您兒子用多久完成一個course，而每日用幾長時間上網學習 & 做exercise? 因為以3個月形式付款，我想調節好一點。

我小朋友用了３個月讀了Grade 3 and Grade 4. 一天大約用30 至60 分鐘. 妳小朋友一定可以勝任.

hello mama 們,
May I know what is the test I need to enroll before I can apply for CTY, my girl already passed the worldarena test (but seems only can apply for summer program), if I want to enroll CTY, any test I can take in HK.

Would you please kindly advise. Thanks.

My boy take the CTY Talent Search directly. The test is SCAT. (Mainly for primary students)

如果是資優,可以直接寄(or scan)去CTY, 不用考試.

如果小朋友現在是讀Grade 2或以下,如果有韋氏報告証明gifted, 可以上網做assessment, 不用錢.然後就可以按照assessmen o既建議入讀online course. 如果above Grade 2, 就要做SCAT.

仔仔剛在昨天開始上 online grade 4 maths，好有趣。不過發現這課程的確對小朋友在英語(聽力)上有一定要求，所以未必適合local school 的同學。

For taking SAT, vocabulary is important in English language, so study more on usage and definition of words...
FYI : Gift students in US take SAT or ACT for CTY talent search when they are at grade 7 (= Form 1 in HK secondary school) . CTY summer program that hold at some of the university's campus is pretty good but expensive

May I know why u prefer CTY than EGPY?

Both institutes provide online and summer program from elementary to secondary level. I'd prefer CTY only because it offers summer camp in HKUST every year.
