Hi! My son will be going to Anfield N at LV this coming August. It's a British school. Do teach mandarin but heard its only 15 mins. We are sending him there because its close to home considering it will be a five-day thing for N. heard that there's field trip every month... Learn tons of vocab...

Do wanna know what other parents outside are planning for P1 and S1 though! I know there's Anfield P in Tai Po but don't know about its reputation.

Thanks Selia, I applied LV campus as well.  Heard that KL Tong campus is better but they don't have PN.  They only got K1 and PG or Pre-K for those born in particular months.  Mine is 2014 class, they said first come first serve base. Comments are generally good from the net

any international primary with good reputation will do.
Phoned to the school, seems that KLT and Whampoa Campus are two individual schools though under the same name.  I may send my boy to Whampoa PN then KLT K1.  What do you think?

We are sending our boy to Anfield Whampoa Nursery class in coming Aug.  I heard that Kowloon Tong campus is better, but my boy is June BB and Whampoa campus is also in close proximity to us.  We will probably stay put for K1 as well, unless we are unhappy with Whampoa campus.  And we are also targeting SIS as first priority!  Keep in touch and we can share more along the way.  Is your child born in 2012?

Yes, he is July bb in 2012.  A friend told Whampoa campus is new, few years only.  But I haven't verified. We are living in KLT but Whampoa also ok as my parents are living there.
SIS - is your kid Singaporean? Priority will be accorded to them.  My colleague's two son are from SIS, they're now in HKU medical school.  He said SIS was a great school and good at everything.

I see.  Have you submitted your application to Anfield?  I bet you know it's on first come first serve basis then.

Yes, my boy is holding Singapore passport, even though my husband is local and I am from Singapore.  There is priority for Singaporeans indeed, but I heard that it is no longer guaranteed spots for us and I don't really know how the priority system exactly works.  Anyway it is our only target at this moment.  I am thinking of other contingency plans, in case we fail to get a spot at SIS.  Are you from Singapore too?

Yes, Anfield told there were first come first serve and there will be no interview for PN nor K1.
BTW, I know a Singaporean married a HK guy and working at Mother's Choice as volunteer some years ago.  Lost contact now. Just in case )

Yes, applications submitted.

EFS could be a fallback.  Some of my colleauges' kids are studying there and told it was good, too.  Students are quite well behaved.

You mail to the targeted school together with a $3. stamped returned F4 envelop, stating the application you required.

I also prefer Anfield over Yew Chung, coz the former provides a genuine English environment.  I understand that the latter is more of a Cantonese speaking environment.  Personally language environment is my first consideration on school selection.  In fact, I did not consider Yew Chung during application.

ESF can be a good back up option.  In fact, we might consider to send our boy back to Singapore for education in case he fails to get a spot in SIS.  Having said that, it's not easy to relocate the whole family back.  My husband and I have established our careers in Hong Kong for the past years.  Anyway one step at a time.  We will decide as we move on.  Anyway keep in touch.  I am sure we have a lot to share later.
