其實有家長肯比$500,000 NR, interview 肯講少少都應該入到，一個$500,000, 有百五個位，一年收$75,000,000!

From what I have heard, the interviewers do not know which applicant got there via nomination right, so every applicant is assessed in the same way, which is fair.

In other words, nomination right allows an applicant to jump the queue and get an interview ahead of the others, but besides this there are no other privileges, admission requirements are not lowered to specially favour the nominee.

ESF opens general application in Sept every year, interview in Dec and gives offers before Feb next year. It opens NR in Mar and that's mean interview btw Mar to Aug r those paid NR.

No, not true. NR opened last year on 3 Oct 2012 and those go for interview between March and August 2013 maybe on the waitlist before.

This is a group interview with 8 kids. The teachers asked him to draw a pic to describe and asked him few simple questions. We waited outside and got the result within half hr.

Nomination right is $500k total.
You make a $50k initial payment to buy an interview, if your child passes the interview and you take up their offer, then you pay the remaining $450k to enroll, but if you decline their offer you will forfeit the $50k initial payment. If your child fails the interview you will get the $50k initial payment refunded.The scheme is clearly explained on ESF's website.http://www.esf.edu.hk/esf-nomination-rightsNomination right is never a must, it is only necessary for those who would not get an interview otherwise.

Thanks for your reply. You mentioned you had paid 50K for an interview and you eventually got a seat after the interview. Just curious in your case if you're really going to pay the outstanding 450K. Or you just paid 50K for an interview but you're not a NR holder? Don't know if this could happen. Thanks for sharing.

Annie, 如果唔係事實，不講清楚會誤導家長。之前我研究 DC ，其處理 NR 的方式記憶中和 ESF一樣。唔知 xx33 的消息點來的？

Don't be annoyed. Honestly, as RC is selective and does enrol quality local kinder students (e,g St Cat), while ESF has to take in anyone declaring cat 1 (at least up to now), i am pretty sure that the standard of RC should be better, and will be visible over time. But of course, the location does put off some people (including me).

As to NR, DC only sold 5 this year, and the RC and ESF, as i heard, is also way below target. I am sure that given their desparation for money, they will "try" to take in anyone that pays. But perhaps ESF due to wide network and better known amony people, attracts quite a number of kids that the school just couldn't (no matter how much it want) take their money, e.g. incomprehensible english, the failure rate is a bit higher.
