My daughter studies in a primary local school. I want to let her study in International secondary school. Any mommies can tell me if she can adapt the high English standard in international school and English literature is also a compulsory subject in secondary school. Pls be advised

其実国際学校都有好間、課程/考試制度都不同、不能一概而論。　最好是看看女女心儀哪幾間学校、再看看毎間学校的課程介紹（homepage好詳細架）。　覚得適合的、再点名在這裏問問其他mama,会更有効得到正確答案。　致於英文程度是否可応付到、我地又５知女女的程度、真係回答５到bor.　但係一様野、就一定arm,無論学術上追到、此終本地＆国際的環境是天南地北、都要一段適応期、朋友之間的相処之道又５同架。　就算同様是本地学校、由中小去英中都要適応la>

You are very kind. My daughter's English standard is just so so in local primary school. So, I just want to equip her as I find that English Literature is required to study in Secondary school. I just worry about whether she can catch up or not? So, I plan to equip her in this area. Any preparations should I do now - she is already P.4

All subjects are taught in English in international schools (apart from Chinese and other language subjects). So, in addition to the English subject, you need to consider whether your daughter can adopt to the change, if she is currently in a Chinese local primary.

The only proven way to improve English, or any language learning, is to read, read and read. Oh, and don't forget to do some writing as well.

Is your daughter out-going? It's not difficult to adapt to the English only environment if she loves making friends and is not afraid to speak the language once she's accepted into an IS.

In terms of English training, nothing is more efficient than reading books, watching English TV programmes and listening to English songs and radio programmes. It'll be difficult if your girl doesn't like English at all though, provided that LS curriculum in English she's adapted to hasn't been making learning English fun.

Anyways, I think what should concern you more is whether IS accepts students from LS.
