Yes, schoolbag is quite heavy even my kid brings what she needs everyday. Each student has a drawer at the desk. They may put colour pencils/ glue...or some little things there but I think they still have to bring their textbooks with them everyday. I'd suggest you to put some of the books in a separate bag for her to carry back to school.
