聖保羅男女中學首屆 IB 生伍尚熹獲英國劍橋大學有條件取錄，他坦言自小視霍金為「偶像」，沉醉科學。

　　中西區傳統直資名校聖保羅男女中學的首屆國際文憑課程（IB）學生將於今年畢業，該校公布截至上月底，八成半首屆學生已獲本港或海外大學有條件甚至無條件取錄，當中各有一名學生獲英國劍橋及牛津大學有條件取錄，亦有兩名學生罕有地獲香港大學法律學院豁免面試而獲有條件取錄。獲劍橋有條件取錄的伍尚熹坦言，視物理學家霍金為「偶像」，希望日後能以科學實證中醫穴位治療。

　　聖保羅男女中學於一一年獲認證為IB世界學校（World School），首屆IB生將於今年五月應考。該校網頁公布，截至上月二十一日，二十七名首屆IB生中，八成半獲三所本港及二十四所美國、英國及加拿大的大學有條件或無條件取錄，當中各有一名考生獲英國劍橋及牛津大學有條件取錄，獲牛津大學法律學有條件取錄的學生更獲商業機構頒發獎學金，共逾百萬港元。

　　英國倫敦帝國學院、英國皇家音樂學院及華威大學等知名院校亦有條件取錄該校學生；一名學生則獲美國康奈爾大學無條件取錄。本港方面，香港大學、中文大學及科技大學亦有條件錄取該校學生，當中兩名學生更罕有地獲港大法律學院豁免面試而有條件取錄，校長陳黃麗娟對首屆IB生的表現感到滿意，「部分院校仍未公布有條件及無條件的取錄結果，相信四月左右會有更多好消息。」

　　自小視英國物理學家霍金為「偶像」的伍尚熹，獲劍橋大學自然科學系有條件取錄。他認為霍金對物理學的見解深入淺出，能全面闡釋科學理論，更欣賞其理論涵蓋哲學元素，為外界帶來反思，「升中後，有一次與爸爸無意接觸霍金的《時間簡史》，講述宇宙起源及命運，拜讀後令我們十分讚歎。」

　　然而，獲劍橋有條件取錄的路一點也不易走，回想最初修讀IB時，伍尚熹笑言重文學的語文科可謂是其死穴，表現仍有進步空間，「IB的中、英文不能死記範文，試過有題目要求我為未讀過的文章撰寫文學分析，唯有讀多些中西文學作品，提升個人涵養，最近剛讀完錢鍾書的作品。」

　　伍尚熹指，若要成功入讀劍橋大學自然科學系，公開試必須於數學、物理及化學科考獲最高等級，他坦言正積極備戰，醉心人體科學的他，更希望日後能研究中醫經脈系統，「西醫會向胃痛的病人處方胃藥，但中醫卻可能按腳部某個穴位便能紓緩痛楚，故期望能用科學實證穴位治療，了解當中原理。」

The offers even better than the first year of DBS.

Eager to know the offers of CSS, CKY and LA. Their success mean something for DSS scheme.

Hope more good news for HK IB students. By the way, usCKY a DSS or PIS? Their students do not take DSE.

CKY is a private school (http://www.chsc.hk/ssp2012/sch_detail1.php?lang_id=2&sch_id=6). Students take IGCSE, then IB (http://www.cky.edu.hk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=106&Itemid=80&lang=en)

CSS uses a different route: primary (school based), MPY then DSE/DP. Logos is school based plus DSE/DP. It would be interesting to see the IBDP results via different routes.

Great job to the IB students!

Appreciate school's & teachers' efforts so far. It's imaginably never easy to run 2 streams in one school. Keep up!

No matter which school, exam/cohort students study & go thru', they are all our HK children. Go for your brilliant future!

I guess SPCC will overtake DBS this year,

SPCC, DBS, LPCUWC and CIS will be in the same IB league.
